5th Congress on Materials and Applications Research (CIMA 2026)
The Materials and Applications Research Congress, CIMA, is a biennial event organized by the USFQ Institute of Energy and Materials that promotes the dissemination and exchange of knowledge in the field of materials by bringing together international and local researchers to present their most recent work. CIMA 2026, in its fifth edition, will take place on San Cristóbal Island in the Galápagos, at the USFQ facilities.
The congress will generate a significant impact on the advancement of scientific knowledge through the presentation of cutting‑edge research, the discussion of innovative methodologies, and the exchange of experiences among researchers from different disciplines and countries. The convergence of international experts in a unique environment will enable the generation of new ideas and interdisciplinary approaches. With the participation of undergraduate and graduate students, the event will make a substantial contribution to the training of the next generation of scientists specialized in materials. The immersive experience in Galápagos will provide participants with a unique perspective on the application of materials in conservation and sustainability contexts.
The audience includes researchers in the fields of materials and manufacturing, professionals and representatives from industry, as well as undergraduate and graduate students from Ecuador and various other countries.
The main objective of the event is to promote the dissemination and close exchange of knowledge among attendees, and to foster collaborative research and development initiatives.
