Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The discovery of molecular signatures is revolutionizing methods of diagnosis, classification, and treatment in human diseases. Indeed, biomarkers are now playing a central role in precision medicine, guiding early detection, prognosis, and therapeutic decisions. Advances in high-throughput technologies (such as next-generation sequencing, multi-omics integration, spatial transcriptomics, and single-cell profiling) are accelerating the discovery of novel molecular determinants in both common and rare conditions.
This Special Issue, “Molecular Signatures and Biomarkers in Human Diseases”, will provide a comprehensive overview of recent progress and trends in biomarker research. We particularly welcome contributions focusing on cardiovascular and oncological emerging biomarkers, which represent leading areas of translational medicine, as well as studies addressing molecular and histopathological aspects of other diseases, such as occupational pathologies; these represent a field where innovative markers could greatly improve early detection and preventive strategies.
As pathology is undergoing a paradigm shift, through the integration of molecular pathology and digital tools into classical histopathology, we encourage contributions bridging imaging, histopathology, and molecular data.
We welcome original research articles and systematic reviews that highlight novel biomarkers, elucidate molecular disease mechanisms, or present technological innovations with clinical applicability. By showcasing interdisciplinary efforts, this Special Issue will advance the field of biomarker discovery in order to further improve clinical practice and patient care and raise awareness around occupational health among both the scientific community and citizens.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Life is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
