Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Gastrointestinal (GI) oncology represents a rapidly evolving domain due to advancements in innovative diagnostic procedures, targeted treatments, immunotherapy, and precision medicine. This Special Issue aims to highlight cutting-edge research, such as promising diagnostic and prognostic molecular biomarkers and theranostic approaches; furthermore, it will reveal novel treatment strategies, and the latest developments and future perspectives in the diagnosis, management, and prevention of GI cancers.
This Special Issue will explore the impact of immunotherapy, precision oncology, and artificial intelligence in improving cancer diagnostics and patient outcomes. Moreover, it will showcase the role of gut microbiota in tumor progression and the latest developments in minimally invasive endoscopic and surgical interventions. This issue aims to emphasize the crucial importance of multimodal treatment approaches and to address some major oncologic challenges, such as developing strategies to overcome drug resistance and improving treatment efficacy.
We invite researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals to contribute original research, reviews, and short communications related to the topics of this Special Issue. Manuscripts should be prepared according to the journal’s submission guidelines and submitted through the online submission portal. This Special Issue aims to provide both researchers and clinicians with a deeper insight into the cutting-edge advancements and complex understanding of molecular backgrounds, as well as emerging therapeutic strategies for all GI cancers, including esophageal, gastric, colorectal, pancreatic, and liver malignancies.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Life is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
