Clinical and Research Insights into Infectious Diseases
The "Clinical and Research Insights in Infectious Diseases" event gathers leading experts to present cutting-edge advancements in the diagnostics, management, and therapeutic strategies of infectious diseases. The agenda addresses both state-of-the-art knowledge and emerging research, providing a comprehensive view of current challenges and future directions.
The program is structured in two days of work, during which practical clinical applications will be discussed, such as antimicrobial stewardship, innovations in microbiological diagnostics, and the role of PK/PD in therapy optimization. Presentations will cover the immunological patterns in septic patients, the role of next-generation sequencing in clinical practice, and the impact of pH on antibiotic performance. Moreover, it will also explore infections by Staphylococcus aureus, including its intracellular role in bone infections, interactions with platelets, and virulence factors. The session on Penicillin-Binding Proteins (PBPs) and fosfomycin will highlight key research opportunities and potential synergistic effects.
The topics covered include Gram-positive and Gram-negative infections, with talks on Cutibacterium acnes, Corynebacterium (non-diphtheriae), listeriosis in pregnancy, and enterococcal infections, focusing on antimicrobial therapy. Special attention is given to non-fermenting Gram-negative, multidrug-resistant pathogens, and emerging treatment options, including novel antibiotics and subcutaneous antibiotic therapy. Fungal infections in diverse patient populations will be explored, including the ICU, transplantation, and HIV contexts.
By fostering collaboration between clinicians and researchers, this event aims to bridge gaps between bench and bedside, promote novel therapeutic strategies, and address the evolving landscape of infectious diseases.
