Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) is a field we all work in, but it is one that is changing faster than ever. For this Special Issue, "Recent Clinical Advances in Pelvic Organ Prolapse," we want to move beyond the standard reviews and focus on what is genuinely new and challenging the old certainties.

We are particularly interested in work that tackles the limitations of current practice. For example, how are we improving diagnosis beyond the standard POP-Q examination? We see great promise in advanced imaging (like 3D ultrasound or dynamic MRI) for better surgical planning and for understanding occult symptoms. We also want to explore the fundamental 'why' of POP, inviting new research on biomechanics, genetic predispositions, or even the pelvic microbiome.

On the surgical side, the "post-mesh" era demands fresh solutions. We are looking for solid, long-term data on native tissue repairs, but also for innovation in new biomaterials or the role of robotics. Finally, we must move towards personalizing treatment. We would be very interested in studies that use predictive models or AI to forecast surgical outcomes or that validate new ways to measure patient-reported outcomes.

Our goal is to create a resource that is truly useful for clinicians and researchers, highlighting not just what is new, but why it matters for our patients and where the field is heading.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Clinical Medicine is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
