Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The XXIII SIET National Meeting will focus on the evolving concept of integrated care in thoraco-pulmonary diseases, with particular attention to shared airway disorders and the growing collaboration between thoracic surgeons, interventional pulmonologists, anaesthesiologists, oncologists, radiologists and respiratory physicians. Building on the multidisciplinary vision promoted in previous editions, the 2026 meeting (22–24 October 2026, Florence, Italy, https://sietfirenze2026.it/) aims to further strengthen the dialogue between specialties involved in the diagnosis, treatment and longitudinal management of complex airway and thoracic conditions. The congress will provide an updated overview of current advances in interventional pulmonology, thoracic endoscopy, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, airway oncology, tracheal and bronchial diseases, pleural disorders and integrated perioperative care. Special emphasis will be placed on shared decision-making processes, hybrid procedures, technological innovation and translational approaches capable of connecting clinical practice with research and education. Through lectures, multidisciplinary panels, live discussions and case-based sessions, the meeting will encourage interaction among experienced specialists and younger generations of physicians, promoting a collaborative culture centred on patient-tailored management. The XXIII SIET National Meeting aims to represent not only a scientific update but also a platform for redefining the future of multidisciplinary airway care in modern thoraco-pulmonary medicine.
