Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Pneumonia remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, representing a major challenge for healthcare systems. Despite advances in diagnostic tools and therapeutic strategies, timely and accurate diagnosis, appropriate treatment selection, and management of complications remain core problems in clinical practice. This Special Issue aims to provide an updated, comprehensive overview of pneumonia, spanning from early detection and diagnostic innovations to treatment approaches and post-infection rehabilitation.
The scope of the Special Issue includes studies on diagnostic imaging, microbiological testing, antimicrobial therapy, vaccination strategies, management of drug-resistant pathogens, and multidisciplinary care approaches involving nursing, physiotherapy, and medical interventions. Additionally, we welcome research addressing patient outcomes and rehabilitation strategies that improve recovery and quality of life.
By gathering contributions from a diverse, multidisciplinary network of researchers and clinicians, this Special Issue seeks to advance understanding of pneumonia, highlight current research gaps, and foster the development of effective strategies to reduce disease burden. We invite high-quality original research, reviews, and clinical studies that can inform practice and guide future research in the field.
