Challenges and New Perspectives in Pediatric Orthopedics

This special issue belongs to the section “Clinical Pediatrics“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Pediatric skeletal disorders encompass a broad spectrum of orthopedic conditions, from common issues (hip dysplasia, scoliosis, flatfoot, clubfoot, knee axis abnormalities, trauma, and fractures) to extremely rare conditions (genetic skeletal disorders, bone tumors, and congenital limb deformities). Gathering evidence, recommendations, and treatment guidelines for these conditions is extremely challenging due to the complexity of setting up prospective studies and randomized clinical trials.

The landscape is being transformed by emerging technologies like big data analysis, virtual reality, deep machine learning, and artificial intelligence, revolutionizing the diagnosis and treatment of major pediatric orthopedic pathologies, including rare diseases and substantial skeletal deformities. This Special Issue aims to present the current state of the art, evolving evidence, major innovations, and future perspectives in the field of pediatric orthopedics. An emphasis will be placed on showcasing innovative approaches, particularly those harnessing advanced computational technologies (AI, virtual and augmented reality, robotics, sensors, etc.).

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed.
