Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue on Advanced Electrode Materials for Alkali Metal-Ion Batteries. With the ever-growing demand for sustainable, high-performance energy storage technologies, alkali metal-ion batteries, including lithium-, sodium-, and potassium-ion batteries, have emerged as promising candidates for applications ranging from portable electronics and electric vehicles to large-scale grid energy storage. Despite their rapid development, further improvements in energy density, power capability, cycling stability, safety, and cost-effectiveness remain highly dependent on the rational design and optimization of advanced electrode materials.

This Special Issue aims to highlight the frontier advances in the design, synthesis, structural and electronic regulation, and mechanistic exploration of electrode materials for alkali metal-ion batteries. We particularly welcome contributions that provide fundamental insights into ion-storage mechanisms, electrode/electrolyte interfacial chemistry, defect and crystal structure engineering, advanced characterization techniques, theoretical simulations, and emerging material systems. 

We sincerely invite original research articles and comprehensive review manuscripts covering both fundamental studies and practical application explorations to accelerate the development of next-generation alkali metal-ion battery technologies. We look forward to receiving your valuable contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Inorganics is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
