Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Adolescents remain a key population in global public health, particularly in the context of HIV prevention, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), and psychosocial well-being. Despite advances in HIV treatment and prevention, many young people continue to face barriers to youth-friendly health services, stigma, mental health challenges, and limited access to comprehensive sexuality education. Innovative public health approaches, such as digital health tools, integrated service delivery, community-based interventions, and youth-led initiatives, are increasingly recognized as essential for improving adolescent health outcomes. This Special Issue aims to highlight research, programs, and policies that advance integrated, innovative strategies to support adolescent well-being and strengthen HIV and sexual health services globally.
For this Special Issue, we welcome submissions that employ rigorous, innovative methodologies to advance adolescent health, HIV prevention, and sexual and reproductive health (SRH). Quantitative studies may include cross-sectional, cohort, case–control, and randomized controlled trials, as well as quasi-experimental designs. Qualitative research should explore adolescents’ lived experiences using interviews, focus groups, ethnography, or participatory approaches. Mixed-methods studies integrating quantitative and qualitative data are strongly encouraged, particularly for evaluating complex or digital health interventions. We also welcome systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and meta-analyses. Implementation and policy research assessing scalability and real-world impact is encouraged. All submissions should demonstrate methodological rigor, ethical integrity, and clear implications for policy and practice.
