Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Forests worldwide are increasingly exposed to pressures associated with climate change, intensifying fire regimes, and shifts in biogeochemical cycles. Understanding these interactions across spatial and temporal scales is essential for advancing forest science and supporting effective management and conservation strategies.
This call for papers invites contributions that address forest vulnerability through integrated and multidisciplinary approaches, encompassing tropical, temperate, and boreal ecosystems. Studies that link historical reconstructions, current observations, and predictive modeling are particularly encouraged.
We welcome studies using dendrochronology and dendroclimatology to assess tree growth responses to climate variability, as well as research on soil properties and forest soil carbon stocks. Contributions integrating remote sensing and modeling under future climate change scenarios (e.g., IPCC projections), along with studies on fire foci and their interactions with climate and ecosystems, are strongly encouraged.
This call aims to promote an integrated understanding of forest systems by considering climate, soil, vegetation, and disturbances, with a focus on predicting and mitigating the impacts of global environmental change.

Forests is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
