Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Renewable energy has become a crucial issue for the future of humanity. The need to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change has driven the research and development of renewable energy technologies to an unprecedented pace. This Special Issue will focus on the latest advances in this field, focusing on the following areas. Wind energy: advances in wind turbines, both onshore and offshore, will be discussed, including new materials, designs, and control strategies. Solar energy: the latest technologies in solar photovoltaic and thermal energy will be addressed, including high-efficiency solar cells, solar concentration systems, and innovative applications. Wave, tidal, and ocean energy: technologies for harnessing the energy of waves, tides, and ocean currents will be explored, including wave and tidal energy converters. Power electronics: advances in power electronics for efficiently integrating renewable energy into the electricity grid will be analyzed. Bioenergy: the latest research on biofuels, biogas, and other forms of energy derived from biomass will be discussed.
Other topics of discussion include the maintenance of renewable energy parks, including preventive and corrective maintenance strategies for different technologies (wind, solar, etc.); the implementation of monitoring and data analysis technologies for early fault detection; and the optimization of logistics and resource management for maintenance. Artificial intelligence for renewable energy will also be discussed as follows: the application of AI for energy production prediction, performance optimization, and asset management; the development of AI-based fault diagnosis and prognosis systems; and the automation of operation and maintenance tasks using AI. Finally, electrical and electronic improvements for energy conversion will also be included as follows: the development of more efficient and reliable power converters; the integration of energy storage systems to optimize energy delivery; and the implementation of intelligent control technologies for grid management.
This Special Issue’s objectives are to present an overview of the latest advances in renewable energy technologies, provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences between researchers and professionals in the sector, and promote the research and development of renewable energy technologies for a sustainable future.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
