Dear Colleagues,

The integration of wearable sensors with artificial intelligence represents a transformative shift in modern healthcare, allowing continuous, non-invasive monitoring and intelligent analysis of physiological data for real-time disease detection and management. This rapidly advancing field addresses key healthcare issues, including rising rates of chronic diseases, physician shortages, and the need for proactive health measures.

Recent advances have demonstrated impressive capabilities, with AI-enhanced wearable systems achieving diagnostic accuracy of 96-99% across various applications and real-time processing delays as low as 14.4 ms. The market is expected to demonstrate strong growth at a 18.3% CAGR, with device shipments rising from 327.6 million units in 2021 to 1.487 billion by 2030. As of 2024, the FDA has approved over 950 AI/ML-enabled medical devices, indicating rapid growth in regulatory approvals.

Key technological innovations include multimodal sensor integration, which combines physiological monitoring with biochemical analysis, edge AI computing for autonomous real-time analysis, and predictive algorithms capable of forecasting health deterioration hours in advance. Applications range from cardiovascular disease monitoring and diabetes management to the detection of neurological disorders and the surveillance of chronic diseases.

This Special Issue invites original research articles and comprehensive reviews on advanced sensor technologies, AI algorithms for health data analysis, clinical validation studies, real-time monitoring systems, and emerging applications in personalized medicine. Topics include, but are not limited to, machine learning algorithms, deep learning architectures, biosensor development, edge computing, predictive analytics, and clinical implementation strategies.
