Dear Colleagues,
The skeleton is a dynamic organ, and its homeostasis throughout life is affected by various metabolic disorders. The topics included in this Special Issue aim to raise questions and suggest approaches to prevalent bone metabolic diseases in adults. In this setting, they address peculiarities of the trabecular and cortical bone compartments, the repercussions of glomerular and renal tubular disorders, peculiarities of hyperparathyroidism, the role of imaging exams such as X-rays, DXA and HR-pQCT, laboratory investigation, and approaches to combat bone fragility.
