Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Thrombotic disorders, encompassing venous thromboembolism, arterial thrombosis (e.g., stroke, myocardial infarction), and complex thrombotic conditions in special populations (e.g., cancer patients, pregnant women, and individuals with renal failure), represent a leading cause of global morbidity and mortality. Despite advances in multidisciplinary guidelines, critical challenges persist in relation to risk stratification, early warning, individualized therapy, and long-term management. This Special Issue will focus on enhancing diagnosis and management strategies to transform thrombosis care from empirical practice to data-driven paradigms.

We invite contributions exploring innovations across the full spectrum of thrombosis management, including the following topics:

  1. Mechanistic breakthroughs in antithrombotic drugs (e.g., pharmacogenomics of drug resistance);
  2. Dynamic biomarker monitoring for predicting thrombotic/bleeding risks and optimizing drug efficacy (e.g., multi-omics biomarkers, POCT-guided dosing);
  3. AI-driven decision systems generating personalized regimens through machine learning and multimodal data fusion;
  4. Precision strategies for complex cases (e.g., perioperative bridging, polypharmacy risk quantification, special populations);
  5. Digital health innovations (e.g., blockchain for adherence, wearable devices for real-time monitoring).

This Special Issue will bridge the translational gap between foundational research and clinical practice, fostering safer, more effective thromboprophylaxis and therapy. Submissions of original research, reviews, and clinical trials are encouraged, as we work toward developing standardized, precise, and intelligent techniques for thrombosis diagnosis and management.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Diagnostics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
