Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Endoscopy has long been a diagnostic tool for the detection of benign or malignant lesions requiring further medical, endoscopic or surgical management. The technological developments of recent years enabled therapeutic endoscopy to take on an increasingly important role in the management of digestive diseases. The endoscopist is able to cross the border of the digestive lumen to perform minimally invasive procedures in different settings.

The aim of this Special Issue is to provide a comprehensive view of new techniques of minimally invasive endoscopy. Contributions may therefore concern endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), endoscopic myotomy (POEM), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided drainages or anastomosis, ablative therapies, bariatric endoscopy and endoscopic treatment of surgical complications. Original research with focus on latest advances on therapeutic endoscopy (e.g., new devices or techniques) will be of main interest for the readers of this issue.
