Regenerative Strategies in Periodontal and Implant Therapy: Towards Long-Term Stability and Function

Dear Colleagues,

Periodontal and implant therapy are undergoing rapid evolution as new biological and technological advances are emerging toward truly regenerative approaches. Although conventional treatment primarily focused on controlling inflammation and preserving the periodontal tissues, today’s scientific progress also aims to regenerate lost periodontal and peri-implant tissues, thereby restoring biological integrity, function, and aesthetics. The integration of advanced biomaterials, bioactive molecules, tissue-engineering techniques, and digital innovations has created a dynamic, interdisciplinary field that is redefining therapeutic possibilities.

This Special Issue attempts to highlight regenerative strategies that support long-term stability and functional success around both natural teeth and dental implants. It presents clinical and laboratory research evidence, innovative techniques, and translational insights that bridge fundamental research with everyday clinical practice. The objective is to present current breakthroughs, encourage critical evaluation of available modalities, and provide a comprehensive framework for the future of regenerative periodontal and implant therapy.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
