Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the winner of the Data 2020 Best Paper Award. All papers published in from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2020 in Data were considered for this award. After a thorough evaluation of the originality and significance of the papers, as well as the number of citations and downloads, the winning paper, which was nominated by the Award Committee, has been selected:
