Young Investigator Award

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Current Oncology 2022 Young Investigator Award is Dr. Bishal Gyawali.

Dr. Bishal Gyawali is an Associate Professor in the Department of Oncology at Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada. Dr. Bishal Gyawali’s research interests are cancer policy, global oncology, regulatory policy, surrogate endpoints, and quality of life. Dr. Bishal Gyawali received his PhD in 2017 and has an outstanding publication record, comprising 157 peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognized journals. Dr. Bishal Gyawali’s Scopus scientific citations number is 15815 and his Hirsch index is 26. Furthermore, he is a member of the WHO Drug Policy Committee, ASCO Health Equity and Outcomes Committee, ESMO Global Policy Committee, and ESMO-Magnitude of Clinical Benefit Scale Working Group.

Dr. Bishal Gyawali is clearly a rising star in the field of clinical oncology. Please join us in congratulating the awardee for his outstanding achievements.

As the awardee, Dr. Bishal Gyawali will receive an honorarium of CHF 2000, an electronic certificate, and the opportunity to publish one paper free of charge in Current Oncology after peer review before 31 December 2023.
