Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Reinforced concrete (RC) structures are the most widely used structural system in seismic regions. Earthquake resistance and post-earthquake performance of these structures are critical for reducing structural damage and societal losses. Recent seismic events have emphasized the importance of integrating modern seismic codes, structural assessment methods, numerical modeling, and innovative strengthening techniques to enhance the resilience of existing and new RC structures.

This Special Issue aims to present recent developments in the analysis, assessment, strengthening, and seismic performance of RC structures. We welcome original research and review articles addressing experimental, analytical, and numerical studies that contribute to improving earthquake-resistant design and rehabilitation strategies.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, seismic codes, numerical modeling and analysis, soil-structure interaction, structural performance, seismic risk mitigation in RC structures, innovative strengthening materials and techniques, and machine learning or rapid methods for designing and assessing the seismic resistance of structures. Contributions focusing on performance-based engineering, practical retrofitting solutions, and resilient structural systems are particularly encouraged.

This Special Issue seeks to foster collaboration between researchers and practitioners and to advance innovative solutions for safer and more resilient reinforced concrete structures in earthquake-prone regions.
