Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Fluorescent biosensors have emerged as powerful analytical tools for the sensitive, selective, and real-time detection of biologically and environmentally relevant analytes. Benefiting from advances in molecular design, photophysical modulation, nanomaterials, and bioimaging technologies, fluorescent biosensors are increasingly being applied to the visualization of dynamic biochemical processes, disease-related biomarkers, cellular microenvironments, and complex biological interactions. This Special Issue, entitled “Fluorescent Biosensors: From Design to Applications,” aims to highlight recent advances in the design, construction, sensing mechanisms, and practical applications of fluorescent biosensors. Particular attention will be given to innovative molecular probes, multifunctional and multi-signal sensing systems, near-infrared fluorescent probes, ratiometric and activatable biosensors, organelle-targeted probes, and fluorescent nanomaterials. We welcome original research articles, communications, and review articles covering the development and application of fluorescent biosensors for biomolecules, reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, metal ions, enzymes, disease-associated biomarkers, cellular microenvironments, and environmental contaminants. Studies involving live-cell imaging, animal models, disease diagnosis, therapeutic monitoring, point-of-care analysis, and translational biosensing are particularly encouraged. Through this Special Issue, we hope to provide a multidisciplinary platform connecting molecular design, sensing mechanisms, biological imaging, and practical applications, and to promote further development of fluorescent biosensing technologies toward biomedical and analytical applications.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Biosensors is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
