Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Bioconjugate chemistry is an interdisciplinary science field that combines organic chemistry, biochemistry, and biology. The 2022 Nobel Prize in Chemistry recognized the important contributions of Bertozzi, Meldal, and Sharpless in developing click chemistry and biorthogonal chemistry, which have widely been used by researchers to achieve efficient and site-selective control of bioconjugation reactions. By conjugating biological structures with electrochemically or fluorescently active groups, new possibilities for bioimaging and applications of biosensors are created. Therefore, the functionalization of biomolecules, such as enzymes, antibodies, DNA, and RNA, as sensitive biological recognition elements for biosensors is a promising approach to improving biosensor technology.
We welcome submissions of research articles and reviews to this Special Issue of the open access Biosensors journal, which is ranked Q1 in the categories of Analytical Chemistry and Instruments & Instrumentation. We encourage the submission of recent discoveries and improvements in bioconjugate chemistry for biosensors, including works related to bio-organic, organic and analytic chemistry, biochemistry, electrochemistry, and spectroscopy. This Special Issue of Biosensors will showcase the latest progress and unique advantages in these areas.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Biosensors is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
