Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The revolution of wearable electronics is defined by a fundamental shift from rigid and discrete gadgets to seamless, bio-integrated devices that leverage breakthroughs in soft materials and advanced computing to provide continuous and clinical-grade physiological insights. Scientific focus has intensified on the development of clinical biometrics and sensors for the non-invasive and continuous monitoring of complex biomarkers. Flexible electronics has also led to the rise of e-textiles and smart fabrics, allowing the embedding of sensors directly into everyday clothing, effectively turning the garment into a 24/7 monitoring platform. Furthermore, a major trend is the integration of generative AI directly onto the device, enabling "health intelligence" that provides accurate predictive diagnostics.

This Special Issue aims to present and disseminate the most recent advances related to wearable devices, including all areas related to flexible electronics, smart textiles, advanced materials, and electronic circuits for physiological monitoring. New paradigms for health intelligence and edge computing in wearable healthcare applications will also be considered.

Topics of interest for publication include, but are not limited to, the following:

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Biomimetics is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
