Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Students with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBDs) are often supported through interventions with demonstrated promise, yet those interventions are frequently introduced into educational contexts marked by developmental variability, competing demands, limited resources, and uneven implementation capacity. For many students, evidence status alone tells us too little; the more consequential question is how well a support fits the student’s developmental needs, the demands of the setting, and the capacity of educators and teams to use it well.
This Special Issue invites scholarship that examines alignment as a central problem in intervention research and practice for students with EBDs. We are especially interested in work that considers how student development, classroom and school conditions, implementation capacity, and relational supports shape both the design of interventions and judgments about intervention responsiveness. Manuscripts may take empirical, conceptual, methodological, or practice-focused forms, but should help clarify how responsiveness is identified, interpreted, and strengthened in the contexts where interventions are used.
The Special Issue seeks work that advances the field’s understanding of intervention fit: how supports become usable, responsive, and durable in the actual conditions of schools.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Behavioral Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
