Conference: The 17th National Microbial Resources Symposium
Date: 20–25 July 2026
Location: Changchun, China

MDPI will be attending the 17th National Microbial Resources Symposium as an exhibitor. We welcome researchers from different backgrounds to visit and share their latest ideas with us.

Microorganisms are Earth’s oldest and most diverse life forms, playing an irreplaceable role in agriculture, healthcare, energy, and environmental protection. Recent advances in microbial resource research have led to explosive growth in new species and functions, reshaping the discipline and becoming a global strategic priority.

Black soil is a cornerstone of China’s food security. To advance microbial resource utilization and innovation, the 17th National Symposium on Microbial Resources will be held in Changchun, Jilin, under the following theme—"Microbial Resources: Protecting the Blue Planet and Safeguarding the Black Soil Granary”.

The symposium will bring together experts and young researchers to discuss key topics including germplasm resource exploration, functional regulation, intelligent screening, synthetic design, and industrialization pathways in the big data era. We warmly welcome scholars, industry professionals, and graduate students to join us in Changchun.

A list of just a few of the cutting-edge topics:

  1. Microbial Diversity and a Habitable Earth;
  2. Microbial Resource Banks and New Productivity Scenarios;
  3. Synthetic Microbiology and Intelligent Manufacturing;
  4. Emerging Technologies, Methods, and Theories in Microbial Resources.

The following MDPI journals will be represented:
