Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Biomechanics and ergonomics provide complementary frameworks for understanding how human movement, task demands, equipment, and environmental conditions influence injury risk and performance. This Special Issue will present current research that translates biomechanical and ergonomic evidence into practical strategies for safer and more effective participation in sport, exercise, rehabilitation, occupational activity, and everyday movement. We welcome original research, systematic and scoping reviews, methodological papers, and applied case studies addressing movement analysis, musculoskeletal loading, motor control, fatigue, posture, balance, tissue mechanics, workplace and equipment design, and human–technology interaction. Particular interest will be given to studies using wearable sensors, motion capture, force platforms, electromyography, musculoskeletal modelling, artificial intelligence, and field-based assessment to identify modifiable risk factors and evaluate preventive or performance-enhancing interventions. Contributions may involve athletes, workers, clinical populations, older adults, or other groups exposed to physical demands. By integrating laboratory precision with ecological validity, this Special Issue aims to strengthen evidence-based decision-making and support the development of training, rehabilitation, ergonomic, and technological solutions that improve safety, efficiency, resilience, and human performance.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
