Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue will focus on the mechanisms behind bacterial biofilm formation and adhesion to surfaces. Bacterial biofilms are a significant hazard in many different fields, such as medicine, food safety, water quality, biofouling and many more. However, bacterial adhesion has been recently identified as an important factor for efficient gut colonization by beneficial bacteria that lead to improved human health. In this Special Issue, we welcome articles about biofilm formation by both pathogenic and beneficial bacteria.
