Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing global threat driven by complex interactions between human, animal, and environmental reservoirs. Within the One Health framework, understanding how resistant pathogens emerge, evolve, and disseminate across these interconnected systems is essential to inform effective interventions. This Special Issue aims to explore the epidemiology, genomic dynamics, and ecological drivers of antimicrobial-resistant pathogens across the One Health continuum, from environmental and animal reservoirs to human infections.
Topics of interest include:
- Genomic surveillance, microbial genomics, and microbial ecology of antimicrobial-resistant (AMR) pathogens;
- Evolution, adaptation, and transmission dynamics of AMR pathogens;
- Emerging zoonotic and foodborne multidrug-resistant pathogens;
- AMR in environmental reservoirs, including water, wastewater, and soil;
- Innovative strategies for the prevention and control of AMR across One Health domains.
Authors are welcome to submit reviews, original research articles, short communications, and case reports involving genomic, genetic, ecological, and evolutionary aspects of antimicrobial-resistant pathogens.
