2012 The inaugural issue was released. Antibiotics was published as a quarterly journal.
2015 The journal Twitter account was established.
2016 Antibiotics was indexed in Scopus (Elsevier), PubMed (NLM), and Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI, Web of Science). Full-text papers were archived in the US National Library of Medicine's (NLM) PubMed Central (PMC).
2017 Antibiotics announced the first edition of the Travel Award.
2018 Antibiotics was indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE – Web of Science) and BIOSIS Previews (Web of Science).
2019 Antibiotics received its first Impact Factor (2.921), ranked 40/89 (Q2) in “Infectious Diseases” and 109/267 (Q2) in “Pharmacology & Pharmacy”.
Antibiotics established 13 topic sections.
Antibiotics started the Topic Board.
2020 Antibiotics received an Impact Factor (3.893), ranked 23/93 (Q1) in “Infectious Diseases” and 64/270 (Q1) in “Pharmacology & Pharmacy”.
Antibiotics adopted a monthly publication schedule.
Antibiotics started the Reviewer Board.
Antibiotics announced the first edition of the Best Paper Award, Reviewer Award and Young Investigator Award.
2021 The year 2021 marked the 10th Anniversary of Antibiotics.
Antibiotics received an Impact Factor (4.639), ranked 26/92 (Q2) in “Infectious Diseases” and 75/275 (Q2) in “Pharmacology & Pharmacy”.
