Cover Story: Electrochemotherapy (ECT) for deep-seated tumors represents a novel and rapidly expanding modality for inoperable, difficult to reach and often advanced stage tumors. It involves the administration of low-dose cytotoxic agents (such as bleomycin) with decreased burden to patients. Treatable tumors involve various histological types, often presenting as inoperable, bulky, extended lesions, previously treated with numerous oncological modalities. The current review focuses on the advantages of ECT such as decreased hospital stay, increased partial tumor response and significant improvement in quality of life. Our goal was to draw attention to the promising results of ECT for deep-seated tumors, potentially posing as a supplementary local anticancer therapy, further improving overall survival.
