Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper investigates two-echelon supply chain under three available channel strategies which are  single online channel strategy, a single retail channel strategy, and a dual-channel strategy. The paper is well written and organised. There are issues which I believe should be addressed before publishing the paper. There are as follows:

There are extensive literature on sustainable supply chain involving dual channel. See below for some recent references. Literature review section needs to be updated. A table summarizing the past research seems a necessity.

Sarkar, S. and Bhadouriya, A., 2020. Manufacturer competition and collusion in a two-echelon green supply chain with production trade-off between non-green and green quality. Journal of Cleaner Production253, p.119904.

Li, P., Rao, C., Goh, M. and Yang, Z., 2021. Pricing strategies and profit coordination under a double echelon green supply chain. Journal of Cleaner Production278, p.123694.\ Golpîra, H., Zandieh, M.,

Discussion Section should come just before Conclusion section. Also, both theoretical and empirical implication are missing in the existing Discussion Section. Authors need to further explain the contribution of their findings both for academia and for practitioners.

Reviewer 2 Report

This study proposes an analytical model to study the dual-channel green supply chain decisions of a retailer and a competing supplier;
The latter suffers from unreliable production performance. The retailer's environmental responsibility is considered as a dual-channel supply chain in which the retailer promotes the green product in its market through green marketing.
Three analytical decision models are studied: a single online channel scenario, a single retail channel scenario, and a dual channel scenario.

The introduction and conclusion are well written, clear and reflect the content.
The concepts are well defined before their use
The method used is relevant and the results well explained.

The article contains, in my opinion, the necessary elements is included.

This paper study dual channel green supply chain with Cournot-typed-competition model.

This dual channel issue has been studied from a number of studies. Thus, this might be an interesting topic.

You claim past studies did not used cournot typed competition model. This may not be accurate.  You should review literatures that studied this issue.

Retailer, manufacturer, and dual channel should clearly defined.

Dual channel supply chain is not usually consider using both online and offline. Authors should consider multi channel and omni channel rather than dual channel. Recently most of firms who use both channels adopt omni channel strategy.

  1. I understand dual channel in this paper follows previous studies.  However, it seems definition of multi channel is same as  dual channel. While omni channel strategy is more advanced and requires more investment, multi channel model provides two different channel services (on line and off line channel) to satisfy customer demand.  In  future research, you can include movement of products between channels (i.e., omni channel)
