This correction addresses an issue identified in the original publication regarding the citation of references in the statement about Iran’s electricity consumption trend [1]. Several references cited in the Introduction section were found to be irrelevant to the context of the discussion. We acknowledge this oversight and provide the corrected version of the relevant sentence, along with a detailed explanation of the changes made.
In the original article, the following sentence appears in the Introduction section:
“In recent years, Iran’s electricity consumption has encountered an accelerating trend of an average of 8% per year [1–10].”
Additionally, the following sentence appears shortly after:
“This has become a significant issue for the Iranian energy market [11–17].”
Upon careful review, we acknowledge that references [3] and [6–17] in the original manuscript are not directly relevant to the context of Iran’s electricity consumption or the main topic of the paper. These references were inadvertently included during the reference compilation process and do not support the stated claims.
We confirm that only the following references are appropriately cited and provide relevant background information related to energy systems in Iran:
[1] Hu et al.—related to thermodynamic effects in Iranian oilfields
[2] Ehyaei et al.—related to thermodynamic optimization in geothermal power plants in Iran
[3] Esfandi et al.—related to energy systems in Tehran, Iran
[4] Alizadeh et al.—related to energy integration in Iranian thermal power plants
Corrected Sentences
“In recent years, Iran’s electricity consumption has encountered an accelerating trend of an average of 8% per year [1–4].”
“This has become a significant issue for the Iranian energy market [1–4].”
We sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate the feedback from the readers and the editorial team. This correction is intended to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the published work.
With this correction, the order of some references has been adjusted accordingly. The authors state that the scientific conclusions are unaffected. This correction was approved by the Academic Editor. The original publication has also been updated.
