Social Change and Transition
Topic Information
Dear Colleagues,
The target of this Topic is to proactively promote action for a self-renewed and self-responsible world society, with a focus on Russia, within the global family of nations.
The evolutionary concept of transitions is considered as helpful in the global scientific community and has already been successfully applied to global structural change, sustainable development and climate protection.
In addition, seemingly disruptive changes open themselves up to an evolutionary understanding because the paradigm of socio-economic evolution had already been developed from many regions internationally, including by Russian (e.g., Vladimir Vernadsky) and French (e.g., Teilhard de Chardin) scientists, a century ago.
Therefore, based on internationally valid and mutually accepted concepts, authors from various traditions are in a position to facilitate better understanding of the contemporary multi-level sociopolitical crisis of the society, with a focus on Russia, in several fields, including the waging of war, growing authoritarianism, restricted free press and scientific data flow, limiting the right of expression, the receding of independent judiciaries, and lacking equitable access to media. In an optimal case, this Topic could become a handbook for analysis-based, constructive, peaceful, and rational further action within Russia and all countries.
This Topic welcomes multidisciplinary articles illustrating practical strategies for dealing with such multiple-civilisational impasses and supports authors in suggesting solutions for a rule-based society fostering the dignity of the individual and based on transparent societal and economic rules.
In this sense, we call for your innovative and transdisciplinary contributions and welcome you as potential authors.
