Improving animal health and controlling disease are important priorities in veterinary medicine, animal production, and biomedical research. The growing demand for safe, high-quality animal products, together with advances in biotechnology and animal healthcare, has increased the need for research that can support effective veterinary and management decisions. Studies that translate scientific findings into practical applications in clinical practice and other real-world settings are particularly valuable. At the same time, developments in omics technologies, microbiome research, and precision animal health monitoring are generating increasingly complex data. These advances provide new opportunities to understand the relationships among nutrition, metabolism, oxidative stress, immunity, and infection, while also requiring reliable analytical methods and careful interpretation.
This Topic focuses on recent advances in animal health and disease, from nutrition and metabolism to immunity and infection. We invite authors to submit original research articles and reviews investigating how nutritional strategies, metabolic regulation, oxidative stress, antioxidant defense mechanisms, genetic factors, immune responses, and infectious agents influence animal health, disease resistance, and physiological or production performance. Relevant approaches include molecular and cellular studies, gut microbiota analysis, metabolomics, oxidative stress and antioxidant assessments, immunological evaluations, and clinical or field-based intervention trials across different animal species.
