This was my first experience with text overlap analysis, which clarified where my review needed to keep precise wording from earlier work, and where revision would improve clarity. As a native English speaker, educated long ago at the Universities of Cambridge and London, I was amused that Chinese science editors are now setting the global standards for ‘scientific English’.
