Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Genomics not only enables various fundamental studies on insects but also finds applications in functional genomics and population genomics. Such analysis allows researchers to uncover the diversity of insect genes, which in turn facilitates the study of the mechanisms and dynamics of pest population outbreaks. Furthermore, comparative genomics serves as an effective approach to identify novel targets for pest control. Insect genomics has played a pivotal role in entomology, providing insights into insect biology from molecular to physiological levels by unraveling the complexities of insect genomes.
We invite contributions that cover various aspects of pest Genomics, including novel pest Genomics, comparative genomic, application of genomics and interdisciplinary studies.
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Novel pest Genomics in agriculture;
- Pest Genomics and their applications in pest identification and pest management;
- Applications of genomics and gut microbiome in ecological adaptation of pests;
- Applications of pest genomics and gut microbiome in invasion mechanism of invasive species;
- Pest Gut microbiome and its application in pest management;
- Case studies, reviews, and experimental findings advancing Pest Genomics.
We welcome original research articles, reviews, and methodologies that explore the pest genomics in agriculture. This Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive platform for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to exchange insights, foster collaborations, and propel the progression of pest genomics.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Agriculture is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
