A Tarui Disease Phenotype with Compensated Hemolysis and a Homozygous PFKM Variant of Uncertain Significance Mimicking Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia

Background and Clinical Significance: Tarui disease, or glycogen storage disease type VII, is a rare autosomal recessive metabolic myopathy caused by muscle phosphofructokinase deficiency. Its manifestations include exercise intolerance, exertional myalgia, muscle cramps, myoglobinuria, rhabdomyolysis, hyperuricemia, and compensated hemolysis. The hematologic phenotype may obscure the underlying metabolic disorder and raise concern for a clonal myeloid neoplasm. Case Presentation: A 23-year-old man was referred for persistent mild thrombocytopenia following evaluation for jaundice and hepatosplenomegaly. He had undergone cholecystectomy at 18 years of age and reported exercise-induced myalgia, muscle cramps, and episodes of dark urine. Laboratory investigations demonstrated mild monocytosis, reticulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, hyperuricemia, elevated lactate dehydrogenase, and predominantly unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia, with a negative direct antiglobulin test. Selected inherited hemolytic disorders, hemoglobinopathies, and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria were excluded. Bone marrow examination showed marked erythroid hyperplasia and mild megakaryocytic dysplasia. Testing for JAK2, CALR, and MPL mutations and an extended myeloid next-generation sequencing panel identified no pathogenic variants, and monocytosis resolved during follow-up. Whole-exome sequencing identified a homozygous PFKM missense variant, NM_001354735.1:c.1087A>T, p.(Ile363Phe), classified as a variant of uncertain significance. The patient subsequently developed severe rhabdomyolysis, with a creatine kinase level of 225,000 U/L and recovered after intensive intravenous hydration without renal impairment. Conclusions: Tarui disease should be considered in young patients with compensated hemolysis, hyperuricemia, exertional muscle symptoms, dark urine, or rhabdomyolysis, even when hematologic abnormalities suggest a myeloid disorder. The highly concordant phenotype and homozygous PFKM variant support a clinically probable diagnosis, although pathogenicity remains unconfirmed. Functional and segregation evidence may strengthen causal interpretation and support future variant reclassification. Full article

Multiple high-risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV) infections in young women are poorly characterized across age and cytology, particularly with partial genotyping. We assessed multiple hrHPV infections among HPV-positive women aged 18–25 years with NILM, ASC-US, or LSIL; the secondary objective was hrHPV positivity among electively tested women with NILM. This retrospective cross-sectional study analyzed 2024 laboratory data from northern Slovakia. Of 7613 unique women, 7574 met cytological eligibility criteria; 804 underwent cobas 4800 testing, and 295 were hrHPV-positive. Multiple infection, defined as concurrent detection of at least two reportable categories (HPV16, HPV18, or other hrHPV), occurred in 69/295 women (23.4%; 95% CI, 18.9–28.5%). No statistically detectable variation was observed by cytology after age adjustment (p = 0.471) or by age after cytology adjustment (p = 0.891). Among women with multiple infections, HPV16 combined with other hrHPV was the most frequent pattern (30/69; 43.5%). Among 396 electively tested women with NILM, 75 were hrHPV-positive (18.9%; 95% CI, 15.4–23.1%); positivity was lower at ages 23–25 than 18–22 (10.6% vs. 26.6%; OR, 0.33; 95% CI, 0.19–0.57; p < 0.001). The NILM estimate describes a self-selected preventive cohort and is not population-representative. Full article

‘No Alarms and No Surprises’: On Normal Abnormalities and an Abnormal Normality

On the one hand, disruptive or alienating experiences are quite common, experienced at one time or another by everyone. While they might seem to be exceptional or specifically confined to the elderly, the ill, or the disabled, everyone experiences illness at some point, and many experience old age and disability. In this sense, these disruptive experiences are ‘normal’ phases of human life, which can thus be described as ‘normal abnormalities’, a term inspired by the reflections of Simone de Beauvoir and Gail Weiss on aging and disability.). On the other hand, neoliberal Capitalism, Consumerism, and Technological Enhancement ideologies view aging, illness, and disability as personal failures and threats to normality. This leads to a politics that structurally discriminates against, excludes, or stigmatizes those affected by these conditions. However, the represented ‘normality’ of these ideologies—expressed by the image of a strong, independent, active, fully functioning, young subject—is itself an ‘abnormal’ (i.e., pathological) ideal, since it does not account for the temporal, vulnerable, and relational nature of all embodiment. It puts marginalized or non-conforming bodies in precarious situations, and, in turn, numbs those who are (still) able to conform to the plight of those who are not. Instead of being responsive to, and in solidarity with, the vulnerable, they are tired and worn out by false ideals and capitalist promises, and find themselves begging for a quiet life with ‘no alarms, and no surprises, please’. How can we embrace the ambiguity of our existence and the normal abnormalities that come with it, instead of denying them? Is there such a thing as a shared normality that cannot be reduced either to dominant social health norms, or to a supposedly objective nature, or to mere individual experience? In this paper, I investigate how an abnormal normality (represented normality) impacts the lived experience (lived normality) of those living and suffering from normal abnormalities (i.e., their lived normality) in different ways in aging, sickness, and disability. In this context, I want to argue for the relevance of the making and unmaking of an intersubjectively shared normality. Normality, in this sense, is the aim of a collective praxis that is based upon a common bodily vulnerability but also respects the specific differences and alterity of every situated bodily experience (of illness, disability, or aging). Family offenses constitute relational experiences that can have a profound impact on the psychological well-being of sons and daughters. Although forgiveness has been consistently associated with higher levels of well-being, the relational processes that account for this association remain underexplored, particularly from the perspective of adolescent and emerging adult sons and daughters. The present study used a cross-sectional design to examine whether the desire for reconciliation mediates the relationship between the positive and negative dimensions of forgiveness (affective, behavioral, and cognitive) and psychological well-being following a family offense. A non-probability convenience sample of 419 Spanish young people and emerging adults from the general population, aged between 16 and 25 years (M = 20.54, SD = 2.69), was recruited across Spain through university channels, social media and snowball sampling, and an online survey was completed. Participants completed the Enright Forgiveness Inventory (EFI-30), the Desire for Reconciliation Scale (DRS) and the Psychological Well-Being Scales for Youths–Short Form (PWB-YS-SF). Results indicated a pattern of associations consistent with the desire for reconciliation, mediating the relationship between all forgiveness dimensions and psychological well-being. These associations remained significant after adjusting for sociodemographic and offense-related covariates. However, the distinction between partial and full mediation across dimensions was not robust enough to correct for multiple testing, and when the overlap among the six highly intercorrelated dimensions was controlled, only positive affect and positive cognition retained a unique association with the desire for reconciliation. Overall, the findings suggest that the link between forgiveness and well-being in young people is partly accounted for by the desire to repair the family relationship. Full article

Depressive symptoms, alcohol use, and body mass index (BMI) frequently co-occur, yet their longitudinal associations from adolescence into adulthood remain unclear. This study examined their prospective associations by distinguishing between-person differences from within-person changes and testing variations by gender and race. Data came from four waves of the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health (Add Health). The analytic sample comprised 5734 participants (51.4% female; 56.7% non-Hispanic white) followed from ages 11–19 to ages 24–32. Multigroup cross-lagged panel models (CLPMs) and random intercept cross-lagged panel models (RI-CLPMs) assessed associations across four gender–racial groups: white males, white females, non-white males, and non-white females. All three variables demonstrated significant stability over time. Higher adolescent depressive-symptom levels were associated with higher subsequent alcohol-use scores at both the between-person and within-person levels. Higher BMI in young adulthood was associated with higher subsequent depressive-symptom levels at the between-person level. At the within-person level, higher-than-usual depressive-symptom levels were associated with lower subsequent BMI only among white females during adolescence. Within-person associations between alcohol use and BMI also varied developmentally: higher-than-usual alcohol-use scores were associated with higher subsequent BMI earlier in development, whereas negative associations emerged in both directions in adulthood. Several associations differed across gender–racial groups. Overall, the findings demonstrate complex, developmentally specific associations among depressive symptoms, alcohol-use frequency, and BMI, underscoring the importance of distinguishing between-person from within-person processes and considering gender, race, and developmental stage. Background: Unilateral complex training has been proposed as an effective strategy to improve lower-limb neuromuscular function; however, its effects on isokinetic strength, inter-limb strength asymmetry, and athletic performance in competitive basketball players remain insufficiently investigated. This study examined the effects of an eight-week unilateral complex training program on lower-limb isokinetic strength, strength asymmetry, hamstring-to-quadriceps (H/Q) ratio, and athletic performance in young male basketball players. Methods: Twenty-nine competitive male basketball players (age: 19.14 ± 0.99 years) competing in the Turkish Basketball Youth League and U18 League were randomly assigned to an experimental group (n = 15) or a control group (n = 14). The experimental group performed unilateral complex training twice weekly for eight weeks in addition to regular basketball practice, whereas the control group continued routine basketball training only. Before and after the intervention, lower-limb isokinetic strength (60°·s−1), bilateral strength asymmetry, H/Q ratio, countermovement jump (CMJ), Abalakov jump, 20-m sprint performance, and force-platform-derived jump variables were assessed. Data were analyzed using two-way mixed-design analysis of variance. Results: Significant Group × Time interactions were observed for right and left knee flexor strength and left knee extensor strength (all p < 0.05). Bilateral quadriceps and hamstring strength asymmetries were significantly reduced by approximately 47% and 63%, respectively, accompanied by an improvement in the left H/Q ratio (p < 0.05). The intervention also produced significant improvements in CMJ height, Abalakov jump performance, flight time, time to takeoff, and 20-m sprint performance (all p < 0.05), whereas no significant interaction was found for peak force (p > 0.05). Conclusions: Adding an eight-week unilateral complex training program to regular basketball training was associated with improvements in selected lower-limb isokinetic strength and athletic performance outcomes, reductions in measured inter-limb strength asymmetry indices, and a side-specific improvement in the left H/Q ratio in competitive young male basketball players. However, because the control group did not receive an additional time- and volume-matched training stimulus, these findings should be interpreted as the effects of adding the overall training program rather than as evidence of the specific effects of its unilateral or complex components. Background/Objectives: Gambling disorder is recognized as a behavioral addiction, and gambling-related problems represent an important public health concern among young adults. However, evidence regarding their association with overall diet quality, particularly adherence to the Mediterranean diet (MedDiet), remains scarce. This exploratory secondary analysis examined whether screening indicators of gambling-related problems were associated with MedDiet adherence in young adults. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional analysis of 496 participants aged 18–34 years from the EVA-Adic study. MedDiet adherence was assessed using the 14-item Mediterranean Diet Adherence Screener (MEDAS-14). Gambling-related indicators were assessed using the Short Pathological Gambling Questionnaire (CBJP), the Lie/Bet Questionnaire, and their six individual items. Independent multiple linear regression models were fitted for each indicator. The fully adjusted Model 2 included age, sex, alcohol consumption, sleep quality, sitting time, marital status, and educational level. Given the secondary nature of the analysis, the absence of an a priori sample-size calculation for the present research question, and the limited number of participants with positive gambling-related indicators, the analyses were considered exploratory and hypothesis-generating rather than confirmatory. Results: The mean age was 26.60 ± 4.41 years; 276 participants (55.6%) were women, and 157 (31.7%) had high MedDiet adherence. In the fully adjusted Model 2, feeling guilty about gambling (Q2) was nominally associated with a lower MEDAS-14 score (B = −1.10; 95% CI, −1.97 to −0.22; p = 0.015). However, this association did not remain statistically significant after Benjamini–Hochberg correction (q = 0.116), and none of the eight primary Model 2 associations met the FDR-adjusted significance threshold. Conclusions: Several gambling-related screening indicators showed nominal inverse associations with MedDiet adherence, with gambling-related guilt showing the most consistent estimate across sensitivity analyses. However, no association remained statistically significant in the fully adjusted model after correction for multiple testing, and formal interaction analyses provided no robust evidence of effect modification by sex. Given the small number of positive screens and the cross-sectional design, these findings should be considered exploratory and hypothesis-generating. Full article

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) was once considered rare in the young, but it has become an increasingly important complication of contemporary pediatric care, driven by the improved survival of children with complex chronic illness and by the expanding use of central venous catheters. This narrative review synthesizes current evidence on VTE across the entire pediatric age range, from the critically ill neonate to the injured adolescent. We first examine noncerebral VTE in children beyond the newborn period, describing an incidence that is far lower than in adults yet rising among hospitalized patients, the multifactorial risk factors dominated by central venous catheters, and the age-dependent protection conferred by developmental hemostasis. We outline a diagnostic approach centered on compression ultrasonography and computed tomography pulmonary angiography, and a treatment paradigm that increasingly favors direct oral anticoagulants and shorter, six-week courses for low-risk provoked events. Dedicated sections address the distinct biology, presentation, and management of neonatal thrombosis, including renal vein thrombosis, portal vein thrombosis, and purpura fulminans, for which low-molecular-weight heparin is preferred and warfarin is generally avoided. We review the heightened, malignancy-specific risk of cancer-associated thrombosis, the difficulty of anticoagulating the thrombocytopenic child, and the consistent evidence against routine primary thromboprophylaxis. Cerebral sinovenous thrombosis is considered in depth, emphasizing its age-dependent triggers, the central role of magnetic resonance venography, and the safety of anticoagulation. Finally, we summarize the comparatively low but age-graded risk of VTE after major pediatric trauma and the puberty-based approach to prophylaxis. Throughout, we highlight the continued reliance on extrapolated adult data, the emergence of pediatric randomized trials and multicenter registries, and the unmet need for prospectively validated risk-prediction tools. The review offers clinicians an integrated, contemporary framework for recognizing, diagnosing, treating, and preventing thrombosis from the neonate to the adolescent. Full article

Background/Objectives: Peripheral nerve injuries of the median and ulnar nerves frequently cause significant functional impairment in young patients. When primary repair is not possible, autologous sural nerve grafting remains the gold-standard reconstructive technique, although functional outcomes remain variable and often unpredictable. This study aimed to evaluate functional outcomes after sural nerve autografting for median and/or ulnar nerve defects and to identify factors associated with sensory and motor recovery. Methods: A retrospective case series was conducted on all patients who underwent autologous sural nerve grafting for median and/or ulnar nerve defects between 2016 and 2025, with a minimum follow-up of 12 months. Vascularized and partial nerve grafts, as well as brachial plexus or terminal branch injuries, were excluded. Functional recovery was assessed using the British Medical Research Council (BMRC) sensory and motor scales, and outcomes were classified as good, fair, or bad. Univariate analysis was performed to identify factors associated with functional outcomes. Results: Forty-three patients received 50 nerve grafts (mean follow-up: 30 months). Good sensory recovery (≥S3) was achieved in 80% of median and 52% of ulnar nerve grafts, while good motor recovery (≥M3) was observed in 48% and 32% of cases, respectively. Motor recovery was significantly better for median than ulnar nerve injuries. Factors significantly associated with recovery included patient age, injury type (isolated vs. combined), associated vascular injury, time to surgery, defect length, and number of cable grafts. Conclusions: Sural nerve autografting provides satisfactory functional outcomes, particularly for sensory recovery and median nerve defects, while motor recovery remains limited in ulnar and combined injuries. Early surgery, shorter defects, and adequate cable grafting may improve prognosis. Full article

As China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) market shifts from basic electrification toward competition over integrated technological capability and in-cabin user experience, understanding how consumers evaluate green technology and smart-cockpit configurations has become increasingly important. This study examines how perceived green technological innovation (PGTI) and smart-cockpit scenario-based configuration (SCSC) shape young Chinese consumers’ NEV purchase intentions. Drawing on the Theory of Consumption Values and signaling theory, the study combines hierarchical regression with fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). Data were collected in multiple Chinese cities through Wenjuanxing and on-site surveys at authorized NEV dealerships and brand experience centers. Of the 500 questionnaires collected from consumers aged 18–35, 420 valid responses were retained, yielding a valid response rate of 84.0%. The regression results show that perceived value is the strongest positive correlate of purchase intention, while SCSC, technology trust, PGTI, and charging convenience also have significant positive associations. The negative PGTI × SCSC interaction indicates diminishing marginal returns rather than simple additive synergy. The fsQCA results identify eight alternative configurations leading to high purchase intention, including integrated flagship, technology-assurance, and smart-cabin-oriented pathways. The study contributes by distinguishing average net effects from equifinal configurational mechanisms and by showing that smart-cockpit value depends on its combination with technology, charging, price, and trust conditions. Waterborne polyurethane (WPU) has emerged as one of the most promising environmentally friendly coating materials owing to its low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, excellent film-forming ability, good adhesion, and versatility in formulation. However, WPU suffers from several intrinsic limitations including inadequate thermal stability, modest mechanical strength, poor flame retardancy, and a lack of inherent antibacterial activity. To address these deficiencies, phosphorylated microfibrillated cellulose (PMFC), prepared from beech wood sawdust via sequential steam explosion, phosphorylation, and superfine grinding, was employed as a substrate for in situ silver nanoparticle (AgNPs) synthesis and subsequent incorporation into WPU via aqueous blending and solvent casting. PMFC functions through a combined mechanism: the hydroxyl and phosphate groups coordinate Ag+ ions, providing nucleation sites, while the nanofibrillar network provides steric stabilization against post-synthesis aggregation. The influence of AgNPs loading (1–10 wt% relative to PMFC at a fixed 1 wt% PMFC content) on the morphology, antibacterial activity, silver release behavior, thermal stability, flame retardancy, and mechanical properties of the resulting composite films was comprehensively investigated using free-standing composite films as a model system. At the optimal Ag loading of 5 wt%, the composite exhibited strong antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli with silver release below 1.15 ppb after 96 h, while tensile strength and Young’s modulus increased by 80% and 298%, respectively, relative to neat WPU. At high Ag loadings (70–80 wt%), the composites achieved conductive-level surface resistivity (~3 log Ω) through percolation network formation, demonstrating antistatic functionality. This study provides an effective strategy for fabricating WPU composite films with combined antibacterial, mechanical reinforcement, and antistatic capabilities. Full article

This study utilized a genetically engineered mouse model deficient in the small GTPase Rap1A (knockout/Rap1A-null) to understand the biological role of Rap1A in the heart. We examined differential protein expression in the left ventricle of Rap1A-null versus wild-type control C57BL/6 male mice (~5 months) using proteomics (nanoLC-MS/MS quantitative analysis), and in the whole heart of aged male mice (~16 months) using MAL-DI-TOF/TOF mass spectrometry. Additionally, we used an experimental model of acute cardiovascular stress and assessed the impact on heart tissue histology, gene expression and mortality risk. Rap1A-deficient hearts showed reduced size and reduced heart and left ventricular weights. Significantly reduced gene expression of extracellular matrix collagen type I and collagen type III was present under baseline and cardiovascular stress conditions. Assessment of the proteomic profile identified a crucial role of Rap1A in promoting healthy ventricular myocardium, as its deficiency exhibited increased impact on cytoskeletal, mitochondrial, metabolic and contractile protein expression in young and aged mice. In young Rap1A-deficient mice, overrepresentation analysis revealed markers myosin heavy chain 7 (β-MHC) and alpha-actinin-2 (α-actinin-2) associated with cardiomyopathies, and upon cardiac stress, showed mortality risk compared to controls. Altogether, these findings provide important insights into the role of Rap1A in cardiac structure and remodeling under basal and stress conditions in male mice. Full article

Impact of a Treatment Peer-Support Intervention on Linkage and Retention in Long-Term Hepatitis B Care in the West Nile Region of Uganda: An Interrupted Time Series Study

Background: Strengthening hepatitis B(HBV) linkage and retention in care remains critical to the elimination of population health risks posed by HBV. Yet too few studies have assessed the effectiveness of peer-support-driven HBV care models in enhancing continuity in care in low-resource settings. Methods: We co-designed and evaluated the impact of a treatment peer-support (TPS) intervention on HBV linkage and retention in care at two study sites (Arua and Koboko Hospitals) located in the north-west sub-region of Uganda using a quasi-experimental interrupted time series design and assessed factors related to long-term retention. Results: After TPS intervention, changes in the post-intervention trends of linkage to care of 16.2% (95% CI: 3.3, 29.0) (p = 0.014) and 45.9% (95% CI: 26.1, 65.6) (p < 0.001) were observed for Arua and Koboko respectively. Differences between pre- and post-intervention trends were 11.9% (95% CI: 0.3, 23.5) (p = 0.044) and 34.6% (95% CI: 29.5, 39.7) (p < 0.001) for Arua and Koboko respectively. The post-intervention level change for early retention increased by 6.4% (95% CI: 0.4, 12.4) (p = 0.035) at Arua but not at Koboko (22.8%, 95% CI: −20.9, 66.5) (p = 0.306). At Arua, the TPS intervention correlated with an overall declining trend of −3.9% (95% CI: −5.4, −2.3) (p < 0.001), while at Koboko it correlated with a difference between pre- and post-intervention trends of 0.7% (95% CI: −0.01, 1.4) (p = 0.053). For long term retention, the TPS intervention correlated with a change in post-intervention trend of −1.5% (95% CI: −2.3, −0.7) (p < 0.001) and a difference between pre- and post-intervention trends of −1.4% (95% CI: −2.1, −0.6) (p < 0.001) at Arua hospital. At Koboko hospital, the TPS intervention was associated with a difference between pre- and post-intervention trends of 12.8% (95% CI: 9.8, 15.8) (p < 0.001). In the stratified analysis, early retention was associated with the TPS intervention at Koboko (aPR = 1.16, 95% CI: 1.05, 1.28) (p = 0.004) but not Arua (aPR = 1.01, 95% CI: 0.95, 1.06) (p = 0.771). At Arua hospital, a previous history of HBV treatment predicted early retention in care (aPR = 1.08, 95% CI: 1.05, 1.11) (p < 0.001), whereas at Koboko, a PLHBV having a “treatment buddy” (aPR = 1.21, 95% CI: 1.11–1.33) (p < 0.001), being aged 19–24 years (aPR = 1.39, 95% CI: 1.04, 1.88) (p = 0.026) and being aged 25–34 years (aPR = 1.38, 95% CI: 1.04, 1.83) (p = 0.023) predicted early retention. Conclusions: Innovative interventions are needed to advance linkage to care and shift the trajectory of retention in long-term HBV care, including approaches that target young people living with HBV. The notion of “AI natives” is increasingly used to describe young learners’ presumed ease with generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), but the label often turns age and exposure into proxies for competence. This study re-examines that assumption through an exploratory secondary analysis of two open student datasets and proposes a practice-based relational framework for AI nativeness. In this framework, AI nativeness is not a generational identity, but a testable configuration of competence foundations, GenAI use practices, access conditions, and institutional mediation. Because the two datasets do not measure all four dimensions within the same learners, the framework is motivated rather than fully tested here. The results show that basic operational skills do not, on their own, explain AI readiness; critical information literacy is the most consistent positive predictor in the regression models. Student GenAI use and access conditions are also heterogeneous, forming four interpretable GenAI use/access profiles: low-adoption learners, high-intensity multi-taskers, mobile-dependent moderate users, and balanced cognitive adopters. These findings do not establish who is or is not an AI native. They show why the age-based label is analytically insufficient and why future research should examine AI nativeness through competence, practice, access, and institutional mediation together. Background/Objectives: Adequate dietary intake is essential for supporting growth, health, and athletic performance in adolescent athletes. Handball is a high-intensity intermittent team sport characterised by repeated running, sprinting, jumping, and physical contact, placing substantial physiological and nutritional demands on young athletes. This study examined associations between eating behaviour dimensions, sport anxiety, resilience, and dietary intake in adolescent elite female handball players. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 74 adolescent elite female handball players; after exclusion of two dietary-intake outliers, 72 participants were included in the analyses (mean age: 15.6 ± 1.7 years; BMI: 21.2 ± 2.4 kg/m2). Eating behaviour, sport anxiety, and resilience were assessed using the TFEQ-R21, SAS-2, and CD-RISC-10, respectively. Dietary intake was estimated using a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire. Pearson correlation and linear regression analyses were performed. Results: Cognitive Restraint was negatively correlated with energy (r = −0.266, p = 0.024), fat (r = −0.288, p = 0.014), carbohydrate (r = −0.257, p = 0.029), and sugar intake (r = −0.255, p = 0.031). Uncontrolled Eating was positively associated with energy (β = 0.338, p = 0.030; R2 = 0.134) and fat intake (β = 0.366, p = 0.017; R2 = 0.157) in the regression analyses. Higher resilience was associated with lower sugar intake in the regression analysis (β = −0.318, p = 0.007; model R2 = 0.101) and with lower sport anxiety in the Pearson correlation analysis (r = −0.559, p < 0.001). Conclusions: The findings indicate associations between eating behaviour dimensions, selected psychological characteristics, and dietary intake in adolescent elite female handball players. Uncontrolled Eating and Cognitive Restraint showed distinct patterns of association with dietary intake, while resilience was associated with sugar intake and sport anxiety. Given the cross-sectional and exploratory nature of the study, these findings warrant cautious interpretation and replication in larger independent samples. Full article
