Electrochromic (EC) devices are gaining increasing attention for next-generation smart windows and low-power displays due to their reversible color modulation, low operating voltage, and flexible form factors. Recently, electrochromic energy storage devices (EESDs) have emerged as a promising class of multifunctional systems, enabling simultaneous energy storage and real-time visual monitoring. In this study, we report a flexible dual-functional EESD constructed using polyaniline (PANI) films doped with anthraquinone-1-sulfonic acid sodium salt (AQS), coupled with a redox-active PVA-based gel electrolyte also incorporating AQS. The incorporation of AQS into both the polymer matrix and the gel electrolyte introduces synergistic redox activity, facilitating bidirectional Faradaic reactions at the film–electrolyte interface and within the bulk gel phase. The resulting vertically aligned PANI-AQS nanoneedle films provide high surface area and efficient ion pathways, while the AQS-doped gel electrolyte contributes to enhanced ionic conductivity and electrochemical stability. The device exhibits rapid and reversible color switching from light green to deep black (within 2 s), along with a high areal capacitance of 194.2 mF·cm−2 at 1 mA·cm−2 and 72.1% capacitance retention over 5000 cycles—representing a 31.5% improvement over undoped systems. These results highlight the critical role of redox-functionalized gel electrolytes in enhancing both the energy storage and optical performance of EESDs, offering a scalable strategy for multifunctional, gel-based electrochemical systems in wearable and smart electronics. In this study, the combined influence of vibration direction, feature selection strategy, and the support vector machine (SVM) kernel on the classification accuracy of unbalance faults was investigated. Experiments were carried out on a Jeffcott rotor test rig at a constant speed and under three operating conditions. The overlapping sliding window method was used for raw sample expansion. Features extracted from time domain signals and from the order and power spectra obtained in the frequency domain were ranked using the Kruskal–Wallis algorithm. Based on the feature-ranking results, the three most discriminative features for each domain–axis combination, as well as all nine most discriminative features for each axis in a hybrid manner, were fed into SVM classifiers with different kernels, and their performance was evaluated using ten-fold cross-validation. Classification using vibration signals in the vertical direction had higher accuracy rates than those using signals in the horizontal direction for the feature sets obtained in the same domains. According to the statistical results, feature set selection had a much greater impact on classification accuracy than SVM kernel choice. Power spectrum-based features allowed higher classification accuracies in all SVM algorithms compared to both the time domain features and the order spectrum-based features for detecting unbalance faults. Increasing the number of features or employing hybrid feature selection did not result in a consistent or significant enhancement in overall classification performance. Selecting the right SVM kernel shapes both the model’s flexibility and its fit to the chosen feature space; when this fit is inadequate, classification accuracy may decrease. Consequently, by selecting the appropriate vibration direction, feature set, and SVM kernel, an improvement of up to 67% in unbalance fault classification accuracy was achieved. Full article

With the rapid development of the low-altitude economy and smart logistics, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as core low-altitude platforms, have been widely applied in urban delivery, emergency rescue, and other fields. Although path planning in complex environments has become a research hotspot, optimization and scheduling of UAVs under time window constraints and task assignments remain insufficiently studied. To address this issue, this paper proposes an improved algorithmic framework based on a two-layer structure to enhance the intelligence and coordination efficiency of multi-UAV path planning. In the lower layer path planning stage, considering the limitations of the whale optimization algorithm (WOA), such as slow convergence, low precision, and susceptibility to local optima, this study integrates a backward learning mechanism, nonlinear convergence factor, random number generation strategy, and genetic algorithm principle to construct an improved IWOA. These enhancements significantly strengthen the global search capability and convergence performance of the algorithm. For upper layer task assignment, the improved ALNS (IALNS) addresses local optima issues in complex constraints. It integrates K-means clustering for initialization and a simulated annealing mechanism, improving scheduling rationality and solution efficiency. Through the coordination between the upper and lower layers, the overall solution flexibility is improved. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed IALNS-IWOA two-layer method outperforms the conventional IALNS-WOA approach by 7.30% in solution quality and 7.36% in environmental adaptability, effectively improving the overall performance of UAV trajectory planning. Innovative demand-responsive transport services are spreading in most urban areas, allowing dynamic matching between demand and supply and enabling travellers to request shared rides in real-time via mobile applications. They are used both as an alternative to public transport and as an access/egress leg to mass transit stations, i.e., acting as a feeder service. In low-demand areas and small-sized cities, it is often difficult to provide effective and cost-efficient public transport, thus resulting in an extensive use of private vehicles. Using an agent-based modelling approach, this study compares the performance of fixed-route transit (FRT) and demand-responsive transit (DRT), where optional stops can be activated on demand. The aim is to identify the conditions allowing DRT to become more advantageous than FRT in small-sized cities, both for travellers and the transport operator. A real-time matching algorithm identifies optimal trip chains (i.e., public transport lines; pick-up, drop-off and transfer stops; and time windows) for travel requests, dynamically updating vehicles’ routes and schedules. The model is applied to the city of Caltanissetta, Italy, where a transit service with six FRT urban lines is currently operating. Travel patterns were reconstructed from thousands of travel requests collected by a Mobility-as-a-Service platform within one-year. The main findings demonstrate the benefits of DRT in providing a higher quality of service, reducing riding times for passengers, and enhancing service efficiency without burdening operating costs. The DRT reduced the vehicle-kilometres travelled by up to 5% compared to FRT while decreasing passenger ride times by approximately 10%. An economic analysis showed reductions in operator unit costs of up to 3.4% for low-demand rates, confirming the advantages of flexible operations in small-sized cities. Full article

The widespread deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) has introduced substantial challenges to electricity pricing, grid stability, and renewable energy integration. This paper presents the first real-time quantum-enhanced electricity pricing framework for large-scale EV charging networks, marking a significant departure from existing approaches based on mixed-integer programming (MILP) and deep reinforcement learning (DRL). The proposed framework incorporates renewable intermittency, demand elasticity, and infrastructure constraints within a high-dimensional optimization model. The objective is to dynamically determine spatiotemporal electricity prices that reduce system peak load, improve renewable utilization, and minimize user charging costs. A rigorous mathematical formulation is developed, integrating over 40 system-level constraints, including power balance, transmission limits, renewable curtailment, carbon targets, voltage regulation, demand-side flexibility, social participation, and cyber-resilience. Real-time electricity prices are treated as dynamic decision variables influenced by station utilization, elasticity response curves, and the marginal cost of renewable and grid electricity. The model is solved across 96 time intervals using a quantum-classical hybrid method, with benchmark comparisons against MILP and DRL baselines. A comprehensive case study is conducted on a 500-station EV network serving 10,000 vehicles, coupled with a modified IEEE 118-bus grid and 800 MW of variable renewable energy. Historical charging data with ±12% stochastic demand variation and real-world solar/wind profiles are used to simulate realistic conditions. Results show that the proposed framework achieves a 23.4% average peak load reduction per station, a 17.9% gain in renewable utilization, and up to 30% user cost savings compared to flat-rate pricing. Network congestion is mitigated at over 90% of high-traffic stations. Pricing trajectories align low-price windows with high-renewable periods and off-peak hours, enabling synchronized load shifting and enhanced flexibility. Visual analytics using 3D surface plots and disaggregated bar charts confirm structured demand-price interactions and smooth, stable price evolution. These findings validate the potential of quantum-enhanced optimization for scalable, clean, and adaptive EV charging coordination in renewable-rich grid environments. Full article

Passive wireless surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors are widely adopted for monitoring the safety status of industrial equipment due to their compact size and maintenance-free operation. Replacing traditional discrete-component interrogators with software-defined radio (SDR) architectures offers lower cost and greater flexibility. However, conventional frequency estimation methods often rely on iterative algorithms with high computational complexity, limiting their real-time applicability. This paper presents an SAW sensing system based on an SDR platform and a non-iterative spectrum-fitting method for SAW frequency measurement. The feasibility of the proposed method is theoretically analyzed, and its performance under different window functions and length of fast Fourier transform (FFT) configurations is evaluated through simulations and experimental measurements. The results demonstrate a favorable trade-off between time efficiency and SAW frequency measurement accuracy. Compared to traditional approaches, the proposed method reduces complexity while maintaining ± 3kHz peak-to-peak accuracy with only 4096-point FFT length according to experimental results. Despite the proliferation of methods for detecting AC arc faults, current solutions often fall short in balancing cost efficiency, real-time performance, and implementation flexibility. This paper proposes a novel joint detection method based on robust local mean decomposition (RLMD) and pulse density analysis. The method leverages a dual-path analog signal processing framework: the low-frequency component of the current transformer (CT) signal is digitized and decomposed using RLMD to extract statistical feature indicators, while the high-frequency component is fed into a high-speed comparator to generate TTL pulses, from which the pulse density is calculated within a sliding time window. By combining the characteristic quantities derived from RLMD with the temporal pulse density, the proposed scheme achieves accurate and efficient detection of arc faults. Experimental results validate the approach, demonstrating high detection probability, adjustable sensitivity, low power consumption, and cost-effectiveness. These attributes underscore the method’s practical relevance and engineering significance in intelligent fault monitoring systems. Full article

The intrinsic trade-off among sensitivity, response speed, and measurement range continues to hinder the wider adoption of flexible pressure sensors in areas such as medical diagnostics and gesture recognition. In this work, we propose a grid-structured polycaprolactone/thermoplastic-polyurethane nanofiber pressure sensor decorated with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (PCL/TPU@MWCNTs). By introducing a gradient grid membrane, the strain distribution and reconstruction of the conductive network can be modulated, thereby alleviating the conflict between sensitivity, response speed, and operating range. First, static mechanical simulations were performed to compare the mechanical responses of planar and grid membranes, confirming that the grid architecture offers superior sensitivity. Next, PCL/TPU@MWCNT nanofiber membranes were fabricated via coaxial electrospinning followed by vacuum-filtration and assembled into three-layer planar and grid piezoresistive pressure sensors. Their sensing characteristics were evaluated by simple index-finger motions and slide the mouse wheel identified. Within 0–34 kPa, the sensitivities of the planar and grid sensors reached 1.80 kPa−1 and 2.24 kPa−1, respectively; in the 35–75 kPa range, they were 1.03 kPa−1 and 1.27 kPa−1. The rise/decay times of the output signals were 10.53 ms/11.20 ms for the planar sensor and 9.17 ms/9.65 ms for the grid sensor. Both sensors successfully distinguished active index-finger bending at 0–0.5 Hz. The dynamic range of the grid sensor during the extension motion of the index finger is 105 dB and, during the scrolling mouse motion, is 55 dB, affording higher measurement stability and a broader operating window, fully meeting the requirements for high-precision hand-motion recognition. This study investigates a green intermodal routing problem considering carbon tax regulation and a mixed (combined soft and hard) time window to improve cost- and time-effectiveness and promote carbon emission reduction in intermodal transportation. To enhance the feasibility of problem optimization, we model the uncertainty of both the carbon tax rate and the intermodal network capacity in the routing problem. By using interval fuzzy numbers to formulate the twofold uncertainty, an interval fuzzy linear optimization model is established to address the problem optimization, in which the optimization objective of the model is to minimize the total costs (consisting of transportation, time, and carbon emission costs). Furthermore, we conduct crisp processing of the proposed model to make the problem solvable, in which the optimization level, a parameter whose value is determined by the receiver before solving the problem, is introduced to represent the receiver’s attitude towards the reliability of transportation. We present a numerical experiment to verify the feasibility of the optimization model. The sensitivity analysis shows that the economics and environmental sustainability of the intermodal routing optimization conflict with its reliability. Improving the reliability of transportation increases both the total costs and the carbon emissions of the intermodal route. Furthermore, through comparison with deterministic modeling, the numerical experiment shows that modeling the twofold uncertainty can cover the different decision-making attitudes of the receiver, provide intermodal routes that are sensitive to the optimization level, enable flexible route decision-making, and avoid unreliable transportation. Through comparison with hard and soft time windows, the numerical experiment proves that the mixed time window is more applicable for problem optimization, since it can obtain the intermodal route that yields improved economics and environmental sustainability and simultaneously satisfies the receiver’s requirement for timeliness. Through comparison with the green intermodal route aiming at minimum carbon emissions, the numerical experiment indicates that carbon tax regulation under an interval fuzzy carbon tax rate is not feasible in all decision-making scenarios where the receivers have different attitudes regarding the reliability of transportation. When carbon tax regulation is infeasible, bi-objective optimization can provide Pareto solutions to balance the objectives of reduced costs and lowered carbon emissions. Finally, the numerical experiment reveals the influence of the release time of the transportation order at the origin and the stability of the interval fuzzy capacity on the routing optimization in the scenario in which the receiver prefers highly reliable transportation. The implementation of innovative strategies in transportation is fundamental for the transition to sustainable mobility in road freight transport. Electric trucks provide a sustainable solution, significantly contributing to the reduction in pollutant emissions, lower operational costs, and the ability to recharge from renewable energy sources. In this context, this article proposes a methodology to support sustainable mobility optimization considering the variables related to the logistical problems of electric vehicles (recharging time and autonomy), which allows for routes to be compared based on the shortest time, lowest costs, and shortest distance for delivering goods while integrating recharge time windows into optimized routes. The study results reveal that additional recharging can significantly impact total travel time and total costs due to variable tariffs at charging stations. Consequently, the model assists in improving resource management and delivery schedule management, thereby increasing operational efficiency and correcting potential conflicts or delays. Therefore, the method provides mobility as a service and offers greater flexibility to decision-makers in selecting the path that best meets delivery objectives, aiming to propose solutions to reduce the impact on the logistics process through the adoption of electric trucks in last-mile freight transport. With the rapid development of e-commerce, the logistics industry faces multiple challenges, including high delivery costs, long delivery times, and a shortage of delivery personnel. Truck–drone collaborative delivery combines the high load capacity of trucks with the flexibility and speed of drones, offering an innovative and practical solution. This paper proposes the Truck–Drone Collaborative Delivery Routing Problem (TDCRPTW) and develops a multi-objective optimization model that minimizes delivery costs and maximizes time reliability under capacity and time window constraints in multi-truck, multi-drone scenarios. To solve the model, an innovative two-stage solution strategy that combines the adaptive k-means++ clustering algorithm with temperature-controlled memory simulated annealing (TCMSA) is proposed. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model reduces delivery costs by 10% to 50% and reduces delivery time by 15% to 40%, showcasing the superiority of the truck–drone collaborative delivery model. Moreover, the proposed algorithm demonstrates outstanding performance and reliability across multiple dimensions. Therefore, the proposed approach provides an efficient solution to the truck–drone collaborative delivery problem and offers valuable insights for enhancing the efficiency and reliability of e-commerce logistics systems. The identification of critical fault information plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and stability of power systems. However, existing fault-identification technologies heavily rely on high-dimensional sensor data, which often contain redundant and noisy information. Moreover, conventional data preprocessing approaches typically employ fixed time windows, neglecting variations in fault characteristics under different system states. This limitation may lead to incomplete feature selection and ineffective dimensionality reduction, ultimately affecting the accuracy of fault classification. To address these challenges, this study proposes a method of critical fault information identification that integrates a scalable time window with Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The proposed method dynamically adjusts the time window size based on real-time system conditions, ensuring more flexible data capture under diverse fault scenarios. Simultaneously, PCA is employed to reduce dimensionality, extract representative features, and remove redundant noise, thereby enhancing the quality of the extracted fault information. Furthermore, this approach lays a solid foundation for the subsequent application of deep learning-based fault-diagnosis techniques. By improving feature extraction and reducing computational complexity, the proposed method effectively alleviates the workload of operation and maintenance personnel while enhancing fault classification accuracy. Our experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method significantly improves the precision and robustness of fault identification in power systems. Full article

With the rapid development of e-commerce, the importance of logistics distribution is becoming increasingly prominent. In particular, the last-mile delivery is particularly important because it serves customers directly. Improving customer satisfaction is one of the important factors to ensure the quality of service in delivery and also an important guarantee for improving the market competitiveness of logistics enterprises. In the process of last-mile delivery, flexible delivery locations and variable delivery times are effective means to improve customer satisfaction. Therefore, this paper introduces a Vehicle Routing Problem with flexible time windows and delivery locations, considering customer satisfaction (VRP-CS), which considers customer satisfaction by using prospect theory from two aspects: the flexibility of delivery time and delivery locations. This VRP-CS is formally modeled as a bi-objective optimization problem, which is an NP-hard problem. To solve this problem, a Multi-Strategy Adaptive Large Neighborhood Search (MSALNS) method is proposed. Operators guided by strategies such as backtracking and correlation are introduced to create different neighborhoods for ALNS, thereby enriching search diversity. In addition, an acceptance criterion inspired by simulated annealing is designed to balance exploration and exploitation, helping the algorithm avoid being trapped in local optima. Extensive numerical experiments on generated benchmark instances demonstrate the effectiveness of the VRP-CS model and the efficiency of the proposed MSALNS algorithm. The experiment results on the generated benchmark instances show that the total cost of the VRP-CS is reduced by an average of 14.22% when optional delivery locations are utilized compared to scenarios with single delivery locations. Container intermodal scheduling is critical for advancing low-carbon logistics within inland port systems. However, the scheduling process faces several challenges, including the complexity of coordinating transport modes and complying with carbon emission policies. To address these issues, this study proposes a multi-objective optimization model that simultaneously considers transportation cost, carbon emissions, and time efficiency under soft time window constraints. The model is solved using an improved grey wolf–Harris hawks hybrid algorithm (IGWOHHO). This algorithm enhances population diversity through Tent chaotic mapping, balances global exploration and local exploitation with adaptive weight adjustment, and improves solution quality by incorporating an elite retention strategy. Benchmark tests show that IGWOHHO outperforms several well-established metaheuristic algorithms in terms of convergence accuracy and robustness. A case study based on an intermodal transport network further demonstrates that adjusting the objective weights flexibly provides decision support under various scenarios, achieving a dynamic balance between cost, efficiency, and environmental impact. Additionally, the analysis reveals that appropriate carbon tax pricing can encourage the adoption of greener transport modes, promoting the sustainable development of multimodal logistics systems. Slot Allocation for a Multi-Airport System Considering Slot Execution Uncertainty

Capacity–flow balance constitutes the primary challenge in strategic slot allocation. Both air traffic flow and airport flow are significantly influenced by departure/arrival times of flights. However, due to various uncontrollable factors such as flow control, delay propagation, and weather conditions, the actual departure/arrival times of flights inevitably deviate from their schedules. This reflects the inherent uncertainty in flight slot execution, which directly introduces uncertainty into capacity–flow analysis. In this paper, we develop an uncertainty slot allocation model for the multi-airport system (MAS), which incorporates slot execution deviation as an uncertainty factor with fix capacity restrictions formulated as chance constraints to balance robustness and optimality. To solve the model, we employ an equivalent model transformation approach and develop a scenario generation methodology. We applied our model to the MAS of Beijing–Tianjin for slot allocation. The results show that when the violation probability α[0,0.2] , the model achieved fully robust optimization. Even when α increases to 0.4, under all scenario combinations, at the selected fix, compared with the results of the deterministic model and original schedules, the number of peak flow time windows in the expected traffic statistics decreased by 84.6% and 75%, respectively, and the average maximum values of traffic in the maximum traffic statistics decreased by 31.1% and 33.5%, respectively. Furthermore, the incorporation of the chance constraint provides slot coordinators with flexible optimization solutions based on their acceptable risk levels. Full article
