In the context of industrial heritage conservation and adaptive reuse, the transformation of industrial buildings into patriotic education bases has emerged as a significant approach, where enhancing emotional education efficacy becomes crucial. This study adopts an evidence-based design (EBD) methodology, focusing on the Siwangzhang patriotic education base in Guangdong Province, to address the scientific evaluation and optimization of emotional arousal efficacy. The research rigorously follows the standardized EBD workflow: (1) during problem definition, the literature review establishes the dual objectives of quantitative assessment and spatial optimization; (2) evidence collection employs questionnaire surveys to capture emotional data from both static environmental nodes and dynamic activity nodes; (3) evidence analysis integrates descriptive analysis, factor analysis, emotional mapping visualization, and paired-sample t-tests. Key findings reveal the following: (1) spatial emotional distribution exhibits three distinct patterns—high-arousal clusters, single-node prominence areas, and emotional depressions; (2) dynamic training activities significantly enhance 66.7% of observed emotional variables. A seven-stage progressive training protocol was developed to achieve phased emotional cultivation. This study validates the applicability of EBD methodology in educational space optimization through a complete workflow, establishing an operational evaluation framework integrating spatial-behavioral-emotional metrics. It provides empirical evidence for targeted optimization of patriotic education bases while pioneering a data-driven transition from conventional experiential design. The results hold theoretical and practical significance for revitalizing industrial heritage through socially valuable functional transformations. Full article

This study explores how school principals evacuated from their schools in the wake of the 7 October 2023 war perceived their unique challenges, the strategies they adopted, and the ways in which their agency was shaped during the extreme crisis. Using semi-structured, in-depth interviews with 33 displaced principals from elementary, middle, secondary, and special education schools, we identified four interconnected dimensions of the principals’ agency during wartime. Intrapersonal agency reflected the principal’s inner identity as a foundation for action. Critical agency emerged from frustration with systemic failures and bureaucratic obstacles, motivating the pursuit of meaningful change. Collaborative agency was expressed in building and maintaining trust-based networks and partnerships that enabled effective solutions. Finally, proactive agency was driven by an internal desire for growth and influence, promoting innovative strategies and renewal processes at organizational, emotional, and community levels. This leadership framework for understanding principalship in wartime highlights agency as a holistic framework that enables principals not only to ensure the survival of their schools, but also to respond to chaotic realities. Practically, the findings inform the design of models for ensuring educational continuity in emergencies, and tailored support mechanisms for displaced educational communities. Full article

Women with intellectual disabilities (IDs) face persistent health inequities, particularly in preventive services such as breast cancer screening, where participation rates remain disproportionately low. These disparities contribute to higher mortality and poorer survivorship outcomes, often linked to later-stage diagnoses. To better understand these challenges and inform the development of inclusive screening programs, this qualitative study conducted in Austria explored barriers, facilitators, and needs related to breast cancer screening from the dual perspectives of 17 women with mild-to-moderate IDs aged 45 and older and 10 caregivers. Semi-structured focus groups and interviews were analyzed thematically within a constructivist framework, integrating perspectives from both groups. Barriers included social taboos around sexuality, psychological distress, exclusion through standardized procedures, and unclear responsibility among stakeholders. Facilitators involved person-centered communication, accessible information, emotional and practical support, and familiar healthcare environments. Women with IDs expressed a strong desire for education, autonomy, and inclusion, while caregivers played a pivotal role in enabling access. These findings demonstrate that low screening participation among women with IDs is driven by systemic and organizational barriers rather than lack of health awareness or willingness to participate. Without structurally inclusive design, organized screening programs risk perpetuating preventable inequities in early detection. Embedding accessibility, clear accountability, and person-centered communication as standard features of breast cancer screening is therefore a public health priority to reduce avoidable late-stage diagnoses and narrow survival disparities for women with IDs. This paper proposes E-MOTE (Emotion-aware Teacher Education Framework), an ethically grounded conceptual model aimed at enhancing teacher education through the integrated use of the Facial Action Coding System (FACS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Virtual Reality (VR). As a conceptual and design-oriented proposal, E-MOTE is presented as a structured blueprint for future development and empirical validation, not as an implemented or evaluated system. Grounded in neuroscientific and educational research, E-MOTE seeks to strengthen teachers’ emotional awareness, teacher noticing, and social–emotional learning competencies. Rather than reporting empirical findings, this article offers a theoretically structured framework and an operational blueprint for the design of emotion-aware teacher training environments, establishing a structured foundation for future empirical validation. E-MOTE articulates three core contributions: (1) it clarifies the multi-layered construct of emotion-aware teaching by distinguishing between emotion detection, perception, awareness, and regulation; (2) it proposes an integrated AI–FACS–VR architecture for real-time and post hoc feedback on teachers’ perceptual performance; and (3) it outlines a staged experimental blueprint for future empirical validation under ethically governed conditions. As a design-oriented proposal, E-MOTE provides a structured foundation for cultivating emotionally responsive pedagogy and inclusive classroom management, supporting the development of perceptual micro-skills in teacher practice. Its distinctive contribution lies in proposing a shift from predominantly macro-behavioral simulation toward the deliberate cultivation of perceptual micro-skills through FACS-informed analytics integrated with AI-driven simulations. Background: The role of cognitive load theory (CLT) in understanding effective pedagogy has received increased attention in the fields of education and psychology in recent years. A considerable amount of literature has been published on the CLT construct as foundational guidance for instructional design by focusing on managing cognitive load in working memory to enhance learning outcomes. However, recent neuroscientific findings and practical critiques suggest that CLT’s emphasis on content-focused instruction and cognitive efficiency may overlook the complexity of human learning. Methods: This conceptual paper synthesises evidence from cognitive science, developmental psychology, neuroscience, health sciences and educational research to examine the scope conditions and limitations of CLT when applied as a general framework for K–12 learning. One of the major theoretical issues identified is the lack of consideration for the broad set of interpersonal and self-management skills, creating potential limitations for real-world educational contexts, where social-emotional and self-regulatory abilities are as crucial as cognitive competencies. Results: As a result of the critique, this paper introduces the Neurodevelopmental Informed Holistic Learning and Development Framework as a neuroscience-informed construct that integrates cognitive, emotional, and interpersonal dimensions essential for effective learning. Conclusions: In recognising the limitations of CLT, the paper offers practitioners contemporary, neurodevelopmentally informed insights that extend beyond cognitive efficiency alone and better reflect the multidimensional nature of real-world learning. The aim of this article is to present the social–ecological system (SES) as a unit of analysis for sustainable water management under conditions of anthropogenic pressure in Poland. In the face of accelerating climate change and growing human impacts, Polish water systems are exposed to increasing ecological stress and to material and immaterial losses affecting local communities. The SES approach provides an integrative analytical framework that links ecological and social components, enabling a holistic view of adaptive and governance processes at multiple spatial scales, from municipalities to areas that transcend administrative boundaries. Methodologically, this study triangulates three complementary approaches to strengthen explanatory inference. This conceptual SES review defines the analytical categories used in the paper, the bibliometric mapping (Scopus database with VOSviewer) identifies dominant research streams and underexplored themes, and the qualitative Polish case studies operationalize these categories to diagnose mechanisms, feedbacks, and governance vulnerabilities under anthropogenic pressure. The bibliometric analysis identifies the main research streams at the intersection of SES, water management and sustainable development, revealing thematic clusters related to climate change adaptation, environmental governance, ecosystem services and hydrological extremes. The case studies - the 2024 flood, the 2022 ecological disaster in the Odra River, and water deficits associated with lignite opencast mining in Eastern Wielkopolska - illustrate how anthropogenic pressure and climate-related hazards interact within local SES and expose governance gaps. Particular attention is paid to attitudes and social participation, understood as configurations of behaviors, knowledge and emotions that shape decision-making in local self-government, especially at the municipal level. This study argues that an SES-based perspective can contribute to building the resilience of water systems, improving the integration of ecological and social dimensions and supporting more sustainable water management in Poland. Current approaches to gaming disorder prevention remain comparatively narrow, and prevention efforts are frequently underdeveloped and fragmented. Using the socio-ecological model (SEM), this qualitative study mapped frontline practitioners’ perceived obstacles and opportunities to develop a multi-level, practice-grounded framework for policy and implementation. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 18 prevention professionals in Flanders (Dutch-speaking Belgium), recruited via purposive and snowball sampling. A hybrid inductive–deductive analysis—iterative coding guided by Layder’s adaptive theory—organized findings across SEM levels. At the public policy level, participants highlighted insufficient sustainable funding but saw potential in coordinated frameworks moving prevention beyond substance-focused agendas. At the community level, a clear knowledge gap emerged, with opportunities in integrating gaming within broader digital well-being efforts. Institutionally, the absence of practical tools and clear referral pathways was noted, in addition to high participation barriers, whereas accessible programs with targeted outreach were viewed as promising. Interpersonally, parental disengagement was common, but early involvement and pedagogical guidance were seen as key levers. At the intrapersonal level, limited self-insight and emotion regulation impeded change, while resilience, self-confidence, and offline activities were protective. This first empirical application of the SEM to gaming disorder prevention highlights the need for a multi-level, context-sensitive framework that bridges public health and digital media perspectives. With the increasing prominence of sustainable consumption and the rising influence of Generation Z in the fashion market, secondhand fashion e-commerce platforms have become essential carriers of green fashion. Although AI-assisted recommendation mechanisms are widely embedded in these platforms, their psychological and behavioral effects on users’ continuous use and social engagement remain insufficiently examined. To address this gap, this study incorporates the Stimulus–Organism–Response (SOR) framework to investigate the psychological reaction pathways and behavioral intentions of Generation Z users within Human-AI Collaboration-enabled green e-commerce environments. Three AI-driven service stimuli—Human-AI Collaborative Recommendation Perception, AI Interaction Transparency, and Perceived Personalization—were conceptualized as stimulus variables; Psychological Immersion, Emotional Triggering, Cognitive Engagement, and Platform Trust were modeled as organism variables; and Continuous Use Intention and Social Sharing Intention served as behavioral response variables. Based on 498 valid samples analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), the results demonstrate strong empirical support for all proposed hypotheses. Specifically, AI-driven stimuli significantly and positively influence psychological responses, which subsequently strengthen users’ continuous usage and social sharing intentions. This research provides theoretical insights for developing Human-AI Collaboration-enabled service systems that balance efficiency and emotional resonance on green e-commerce platforms, and offers practical implications for promoting sustainable fashion values among younger consumers. Digital technology is profoundly transforming the experiential landscape of tourism. However, its application does not necessarily produce cultural experiences, creating a critical bottleneck that constrains the sustainable development of the cultural tourism industry and broader societal culture. To address this gap, this study introduces psychological ownership theory as an overarching explanatory framework. It constructs and validates an integrated model that examines how digital technology characteristics (interactivity and innovativeness) influence cultural experience through three parallel mediating pathways: cognitive evaluation (perceived usefulness and ease of use), scenario construction, and flow experience. Based on 540 visitor questionnaires, structural equation modeling validated the theoretical model. Findings reveal that the interactivity and innovation of digital technology jointly stimulate visitors’ psychological ownership through three parallel pathways. Specifically, technological innovativeness exhibited the strongest effect on perceived ease of use (β = 0.387, p < 0.001), while the indirect effect via the flow experience path was also significant (effect size = 0.036). This process stimulates visitors’ psychological ownership, ultimately leading to cultural experiences. The study systematically reveals the pathways through which digital technology empowers cultural experiences across three dimensions: as a rational tool, an emotional narrative medium, and an intrinsic psychological catalyst. It highlights that strategically allocating technological resources to cultivate visitors’ psychological ownership is crucial for driving high-quality industrial development. Furthermore, the research offers significant implications for cultural sustainability, suggesting that such internally motivated identification provides a more effective foundation for the living transmission of culture and socio-cultural sustainability than external regulations or imposed norms. This study aims to examine the relationships among environmental sensitivity, eco-anxiety, and sustainable consumption behavior, thereby revealing how these variables interact within the framework of sustainability psychology. Conducted with a sample of 406 university students in Türkiye, the research employed a quantitative and cross-sectional design, and the proposed relationships were tested using structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings indicate that environmental sensitivity significantly predicts sustainable consumption behavior both directly and indirectly through eco-anxiety. Eco-anxiety was found to play a partial mediating role in the relationship between environmental sensitivity and sustainable consumption. In addition, the moderating effect of gender was investigated, and no significant differences were observed between women and men regarding the structural paths of the model. Overall, the results demonstrate that sustainable consumption behaviors are shaped not only by cognitive processes but also by emotional mechanisms, suggesting that eco-anxiety, as a motivational emotional response, may strengthen sustainable behavior. This study contributes to the environmental psychology literature by theoretically and empirically highlighting the decisive role of emotional processes in shaping sustainable behavior. The findings also provide important practical implications for sustainability policies, environmental education, and communication strategies. Full article

The present conceptual paper proposes a purpose-driven experiential marketing framework for film-induced destinations, integrating sustainability and emotional engagement into destination management. The model under discussion comprises five interconnected dimensions, namely integrated experience, branding, people, emotional touchpoints and processes. These are articulated through purpose-driven marketing principles and aligned with selected Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) indicators. This approach positions sustainability as an inherent component of value creation rather than an external policy layer. The framework under discussion was developed through an interdisciplinary literature review and is illustrated through insights from an exploratory case study of Monsanto, a rural Portuguese village recently featured in HBO’s House of the Dragon. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with a purposive sample of local stakeholders, including tourists, residents, entrepreneurs and institutional representatives. These interviews were analysed thematically to provide indicative evidence of the framework’s relevance and potential applicability. The findings suggest that emotional engagement, co-creation and territorial authenticity play a central role in shaping memorable film-related tourism experiences that are consistent with destination purpose and stakeholder well-being. The study also emphasises the strategic importance of storytelling, audiovisual narratives and collaborative governance in the strengthening of place identity and the support of sustainable differentiation. Despite its exploratory nature, the framework provides practical guidance for destination management organisations (DMOs), cultural programmers and creative industry actors. The article concludes by identifying avenues for future research, including cross-regional application, digital experimentation and the quantitative assessment of experiential dimensions. This study explores the integration of Georgi Lozanov’s Suggestopedia with Alain Berthoz’s theory of simplexity as a pedagogical paradigm for inclusive and creative educational design. The research, conducted within the specialization courses for educational support at the University of Salerno, involved 230 trainee teachers engaged in a participatory action-research process aimed at translating suggestopedic principles, positive suggestion, music, and relational harmony into didactic planning. Through a combination of theoretical training, laboratory design activities, and reflective evaluation, participants produced 21 interdisciplinary educational projects assessed according to the properties and rules of simplexity. The results show a high degree of methodological coherence, aesthetic quality, and curricular inclusiveness, with music emerging as a key factor in fostering attention, cooperation, and emotional engagement. Data analysis indicates that the fusion of suggestopedic and simplex approaches promotes adaptive, modular, and meaning-oriented design processes that enhance teachers’ creativity and metacognitive awareness. Overall, the findings highlight the educational value of a pedagogy of resonance, in which body, mind, and environment interact harmoniously. The study concludes that the suggestopedic—simplex model represents a regenerative framework for contemporary didactics, capable of transforming complexity into harmony and restoring to education its aesthetic, relational, and human dimension. The architecture of spas and recreational complexes is increasingly being analyzed not only through the prism of its formal diversity but also through its functional, technical, and esthetic responses to evolving societal expectations. This article descriptively examines the context of evolving user needs and select examples representing new architectural forms integrated into the landscape, responding to the growing demand for beauty (understood subjectively), experiences, and emotional value in 21st-century tourism and recreation. The most diverse and characteristic examples were selected and described in order to maintain a broad context of analysis and illustrate contemporary changes as faithfully as possible. The descriptive approach enables a systematic and comprehensive representation of phenomena, identifying recurring patterns, spatial trends, and contextual relationships. Rather than being limited to numerical data, it provides a structured analytical framework that supports the objective documentation of architectural and urban processes. The aim of this study is to systematize selected design trends that reflect contemporary cultural aspirations and environmental concerns, and to illustrate the evolving relationship between architecture, nature, and users. The results indicate a consistent shift toward landscape-integrated, experiential, and esthetically driven architectural solutions, demonstrating that contemporary tourism facilities increasingly prioritize atmosphere, immersion in nature, and sensory engagement over traditional utilitarian design. This study concludes that beauty, understood as subjective esthetic experience, has become a key determinant in shaping new architectural forms, reinforcing the role of architecture as both a cultural expression and a tool for enhancing well-being in tourism and leisure environments. K-12 Teachers’ Adoption of Generative AI for Teaching: An Extended TAM Perspective

This study investigates the factors influencing Chinese K-12 teachers’ adoption of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) for instructional purposes by extending the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with pedagogical beliefs, perceived intelligence, perceived ethical risks, GenAI anxiety, and demographic moderators. Drawing on a theory-driven framework, survey data were collected from 218 in-service teachers across K-12 schools in China. The respondents were predominantly from urban schools and most had prior GenAI use experience. Eight latent constructs and fourteen hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling and multi-group analysis. Results show that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are the strongest predictors of teachers’ intention to adopt GenAI. Constructivist pedagogical beliefs positively predict both perceived usefulness and intention, whereas transmissive beliefs negatively predict intention. Perceived intelligence exerts strong positive effects on perceived usefulness and ease of use but has no direct effect on intention. Perceived ethical risks significantly heighten GenAI anxiety, yet neither directly reduces adoption intention. Gender, teaching stage, and educational background further moderate key relationships, revealing heterogeneous adoption mechanisms across teacher subgroups. The study extends TAM for the GenAI era and highlights the need for professional development and policy initiatives that simultaneously strengthen perceived usefulness and ease of use, engage with pedagogical beliefs, and address ethical and emotional concerns in context-sensitive ways. Intergenerational trauma significantly affects the health and mental health of African American families, particularly women whose lives are shaped by systemic inequities and historical oppression. This scoping review examines how trauma and resilience are transmitted across generations in African American communities, with a focus on dyads such as mother–child and mother–daughter relationships and a conceptual grandmother–mother–daughter triad. The review aims to identify mechanisms of trauma transmission and resilience and to inform culturally responsive, multigenerational interventions. Peer-reviewed studies published between 2012 and 2025 were identified that included African American caregivers and children and addressed biological, psychological, social, cultural, and resilience dimensions of intergenerational processes. Data were synthesized using a dimensional conceptual analysis approach. Findings indicate that intergenerational trauma is perpetuated through chronic stress and discrimination, maternal mental health challenges, family structure and caregiving strain, and cultural narratives about strength and self-reliance. At the same time, resilience is transmitted through sensitive caregiving, spirituality and faith, social and kin support, racial socialization, and economic survival strategies that draw on cultural and historical knowledge. These results underscore the importance of addressing intergenerational trauma holistically by integrating dyadic evidence within a broader conceptual triadic framework. Culturally responsive, multigenerational interventions that leverage family and community strengths and make space for emotional vulnerability are essential for interrupting cycles of trauma and fostering healing within African American families.
