The production of winter wheat, spring barley, spring oilseed rape, and field beans requires detailed experimental data studies to analyze the quality and productivity of spring barley grain under different cultivation and tillage conditions. As the world’s population grows, more food is required to maintain a stable food supply chain. For many years, intensive farming systems have been used to meet this need. Today, intensive climate change events and other global environmental challenges are driving a shift towards sustainable use of natural resources and simplified cultivation methods that produce high-quality and productive food. It is important to study different tillage systems in order to understand how these methods can affect the chemical composition and nutritional value of the grain. Both agronomic and economic aspects contribute to the complexity of this field and their analysis will undoubtedly contribute to the development of more efficient agricultural practice models and the promotion of more conscious consumption. An appropriate tillage system should be oriented towards local climatic characteristics and people’s needs. The impact of reduced tillage on these indicators in spring barley production is still insufficiently investigated and requires further analysis at a global level. This study was carried out at Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy (Lithuania) in 2022–2024. Treatments were arranged using a split-plot design. Based on a long-term tillage experiment, five tillage systems were tested: deep and shallow plowing, deep cultivation–chiseling, shallow cultivation–disking, and no-tillage. The results show that in 2022–2024, the hectoliter weight and moisture content of spring barley grains increased, but protein content and germination decreased in shallowly plowed fields. In deep cultivation–chiseling fields, the protein content (0.1–1.1%) of spring barley grains decreased, and in shallow cultivation–disking fields, the moisture content (0.2–0.3%) decreased. In all fields, the simplified tillage systems applied reduced spring barley germination (0.4–16.7%). Tillage systems and meteorological conditions are the two main forces shaping the quality indicators of spring barley grains. Properly selected tillage systems and favorable climatic conditions undoubtedly contribute to better grain properties and higher yields, while reducing the risk of disease spread. Full article

This study provides a thorough examination of the utilization of hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents (HDESs) for the extraction of 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) from effluent, with an emphasis on a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach. The extraction efficacy of six HDES systems was initially evaluated, and the combinations of thymol/camphor (Thy/Cam) and menthol/thymol (Men/Thy) exhibited superior performance. Subsequently, these two HDESs were chosen for a comprehensive parametric analysis. The impact of contact time demonstrated that extraction equilibrium was reached at 15 min for both systems, thereby achieving a balance between high efficiency and time efficiency. Next, the impact of the HDES-to-water mass ratio was investigated. A 1:1 ratio was determined to be the most effective, as it minimized solvent consumption and provided high efficiency. An additional examination of the molar ratios of the HDES components revealed that the 1:1 ratio exhibited the most effective extraction performance. This was due to the fact that imbalances in the solvent mixture resulted in diminished efficiency as a result of disrupted molecular interactions. The extraction efficiency was significantly influenced by the initial concentration of 1,2-DCA, with higher concentrations resulting in superior results as a result of the increased mass transfer driving forces. In general, the Men/Thy and Thy/Cam systems have shown noteworthy stability and efficiency under different conditions, which makes them highly suitable for large-scale applications. Full article

Urban expansion has a profound impact on both society and the environment. In this study, VOSviewer 1.6.16 and CiteSpace 6.3.R1 were used to conduct a bibliometric analysis of 2987 articles published during the period of 1992–2022 from the Web of Science database in order to identify the research hotspots and trends of urban expansion and its driving factors. The number of articles significantly increased during the period of 1992–2022. The spatiotemporal characteristics and driving forces of urban expansion, urban growth models and simulations, and the impacts of urban expansion were the main research topics. The rate of urban expansion showed regional differences. Socioeconomic factors, political and institutional factors, natural factors, path effects, and proximity effects were the main driving factors. Urban expansion promoted economic growth, occupied cultivated land, and affected ecological environments. Big data and deep learning techniques were recently applied due to advancements in information techniques. With the increasing awareness of environmental protection, the number of studies on environmental impacts and spatial planning regulations has increased. Some political and institutional factors, such as subsidies, taxation, spatial planning, new development strategies, regulation policies, and economic industries, had controversial or unknown impacts. Further research on these factors and their mechanisms is needed. A limitation of this study is that articles which were not indexed, were not included in bibliometric analysis. Further studies can review these articles and conduct comparative research to capture the diversity. Full article

User requirements are the core driving force behind the iterative development of complex products. Their comprehensive collection, accurate interpretation, and effective integration directly affect design outcomes. However, current practices often depend heavily on single-source data and designer intuition, resulting in incomplete, biased, and fragile design decisions. Moreover, multi-source heterogeneous user requirements often exhibit inherent asymmetry and imbalance in both structure and contribution. To address these issues, this study proposes a symmetric and balanced optimization method for multi-source heterogeneous user requirements in complex product design. Multiple acquisition and analysis approaches are integrated to mitigate the limitations of single-source data by fusing complementary information and enabling balanced decision-making. Firstly, unstructured text data from online reviews are used to extract initial user requirements, and a topic analysis method is applied for modeling and clustering. Secondly, user interviews are analyzed using a fuzzy satisfaction analysis, while eye-tracking experiments capture physiological behavior to support correlation analysis between internal preferences and external behavior. Finally, a cooperative game-based model is introduced to optimize conflicts among data sources, ensuring fairness in decision-making. The method was validated using a case study of oxygen concentrators. The findings demonstrate improvements in both decision robustness and requirement representation. Full article

This paper proposes an energy-efficient current control strategy for drive modules of permanent magnetic actuators (PMAs) to reduce the cost and volume of DC-link capacitors. The drive module of the PMA does not receive the input power from an external power source during operation. Instead, the externally charged DC-link capacitors are used as internal backup power sources to guarantee the reliable operation even in the case of an emergency. Therefore, it is important to use the charged energy efficiently within the limited DC-link capacitors. However, conventional control strategies using a voltage open loop have trouble reducing the energy waste. This is because the drive module with the voltage open loop uses unnecessary energy even after the PMA mover has finished its movement. To figure it out, the proposed control strategy adopts a current control loop to save energy even if the displacement of the PMA mover is unknown. In addition, the proposed strategy can ensure the successful operation of the PMA by using the driving force analysis. The efficacy of the proposed strategy is verified through the experimental test. It would be expected that the proposed strategy can reduce the cost and volume of the PMA drive system. Full article

The GRAS gene family not only performs a variety of regulatory functions in plant growth and development but also plays a key role in the defense mechanisms of plants in response to environmental stresses. Although GRASs have been identified in many species, research on them in Nicotiana benthamiana remains relatively limited until now. In this study, we comprehensively analyzed the GRAS gene family in N. benthamiana plants. Phylogenetic analysis displayed that all identified NbGRASs were classified into eight different subfamilies. Gene duplication analysis revealed that segmental duplication was the main driving force for the expansion of the NbGRAS gene family, with a total of 40 segmental duplication pairs identified. NbGRASs were unevenly distributed across the 19 chromosomes. Additionally, both gene families exhibited a relatively weak codon usage bias, a pattern shaped by mutational and selective pressures. Expression analysis showed that NbGRASs had tissue-specific expression patterns, with relatively high expression levels being observed in leaves and roots. The expression of NbGRASs was significantly changed under tomato yellow leaf curl virus or bamboo mosaic virus infection, suggesting that these NbGRASs can be involved in the plant’s antiviral response. These findings provide new perspectives for in-depth understanding of the evolution and functions of the GRAS gene family in N. benthamiana. Full article

In order to cope with the multimodal changes led by the digital era, enterprises urgently need to promote the construction of new-quality productive forces (NQPFs) through digital transformation. NQPFs take digital technology empowerment as the core driving force and emphasize the dynamic matching and synergy between the new-quality elements (digital infrastructure, digital talents, data resources, and diversified ecology) and the new-quality capabilities (digital dynamic capabilities) so as to unleash the innovation potentials of different production modes. Based on resource orchestration theory, this study constructs a “resource-capability-value creation” framework for digital empowerment (D-RCV) and employs fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) to examine 205 enterprise samples. Results reveal that enhanced innovation performance stems from digital empowerment at both resource and capability levels, generating three configurational paths: collaborative symbiosis, resource optimization, and data-driven approaches. These paths emerge through the interaction of resources and capabilities under different conditions. This study contributes by proposing a digital empowerment framework and exploring multiple pathway choices for new-quality productivity development. The findings provide theoretical insights for enterprise innovation research and practical guidance for innovation management strategies. Full article

Developing agricultural new productive forces (ANPF) according to local conditions is a key strategy for agricultural modernization. Using panel data from 16 prefecture-level cities in Anhui Province from 2010 to 2022, this study constructed indicator systems for ANPF and the construction of a strong agricultural province (CSAP). The entropy-weight TOPSIS method was used to calculate the levels of ANPF and the SAP index. This study employed a modified gravity model and social network analysis (SNA) to investigate the spatial correlation and evolutionary characteristics of these networks. Geographical detectors were also used to identify the driving factors behind agricultural transformation. The findings indicate that both ANPF and CSAP showed an upward trend during the study period, with significant regional heterogeneity, with Central Anhui being the most prominent. This study revealed spatial spillover effects and strong network correlations between ANPF and CSAP, with the spatial network structure exhibiting characteristics of multi-core, multi-association, and multidimensional connections. The entities within the network are tightly connected, with no “isolated island” phenomenon, and Hefei, as the central hub, showed the highest number of connections. Laborer quality, tangible means of production, and new-quality industries emerged as the core driving forces, working in synergy to propel CSAP. This study contributes new insights into the spatial network dynamics of agricultural development and offers actionable recommendations for policymakers to enhance agricultural modernization globally. This study presents data from Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Nanofiltration (NF) spiral-wound polyamide modules tested in a semi-pilot plant with multicomponent mixtures of Volatile Fatty Acids (VFAs) comprising acetic, propionic, butyric, valeric, and hexanoic acids. A robust method combining film theory and dissociation equilibria was developed to estimate interfacial concentrations, enabling accurate analysis of concentration polarization, real rejection, and effective transmembrane driving force. Concentration polarization strongly affects NF membranes, resulting in real rejections up to 20% higher than apparent values, while its effect is negligible for RO membranes. NF rejections show marked sensitivity to pH and VFA feed concentration: at 20 g/L and highest flux, acetic acid real rejection increases from 80% to 91% as pH rises from 6 to 9. At pH 7, rejections decline with feed concentration, with acetic acid dropping from 55% at 20 g/L to 32% at 63 g/L, at the same flux. These changes correlate with the molecular weight of the acids. Conversely, RO rejections are marginally affected by pH and not influenced by concentration due to dominant steric exclusion. Membrane permeabilities remain unaffected by VFAs and align with pure water values. The data analysis framework is effective and applicable across a wide range of conditions and membranes. The mechanisms by which rotation influences zonal flows (ZFs) in plasma are incompletely understood, presenting a significant challenge in the study of plasma dynamics. This research addresses this gap by investigating the role of non-inertial effects—specifically centrifugal and Coriolis forces—on Geodesic Acoustic Modes (GAMs) and ZFs in rotating tokamak plasmas. While previous studies have linked centrifugal convection to plasma toroidal rotation, they often overlook the Coriolis effects or inconsistently incorporate non-inertial terms into magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) equations. In this work, we derive self-consistent drift-ordered two-fluid equations from the collisional Vlasov equation in a non-inertial frame, and we modify the Hermes cold ion code to simulate the impact of rotation on GAMs and ZFs. Our simulations reveal that toroidal rotation enhances ZF amplitude and GAM frequency, with Coriolis convection playing a critical role in GAM propagation and the global structure of ZFs. Analysis of simulation outcomes indicates that centrifugal drift drives parallel velocity growth, while Coriolis drift facilitates radial propagation of GAMs. This work may provide valuable insights into momentum transport and flow shear dynamics in tokamaks, with implications for turbulence suppression and confinement optimization. China’s national strategies emphasize both achieving carbon peaking and neutrality (“dual carbon” objectives) and fostering high-quality economic development. This dual focus highlights the critical importance of the Green and Low-Carbon Transition (GLCT) of the economy and the development of New Quality Productive Forces (NQPF). Firms are central actors in this transformation, prompting the core research question: How does corporate engagement in GLCT contribute to the formation of NQPF? We investigate this relationship using panel data comprising 33,768 firm-year observations for A-share listed companies across diverse industries in China from 2012 to 2022. Corporate GLCT is measured via textual analysis of annual reports, while an NQPF index, incorporating both tangible and intangible dimensions, is constructed using the entropy method. Our empirical analysis relies primarily on fixed-effects regressions, supplemented by various robustness checks and alternative econometric specifications. The results demonstrate a significantly positive relationship: corporate GLCT robustly promotes the development of NQPF, with dynamic lag structures suggesting delayed productivity realization. Mechanism analysis reveals that this effect operates through three primary channels: improved access to financing, stimulated collaborative innovation and enhanced resource-allocation efficiency. Heterogeneity analysis indicates that the positive impact of GLCT on NQPF is more pronounced for state-owned enterprises (SOEs), firms operating in high-emission sectors, those in energy-efficient or environmentally friendly industries, technology-intensive sectors, non-heavily polluting industries and companies situated in China’s eastern regions. Overall, our findings suggest that corporate GLCT enhances NQPF by improving resource-utilization efficiency and fostering innovation, with these effects amplified by specific regional advantages and firm characteristics. This study offers implications for corporate strategy, highlighting how aligning GLCT initiatives with core business objectives can drive NQPF, and provides evidence relevant for policymakers aiming to optimize environmental governance and foster sustainable economic pathways. Historical districts are the mark of the continuity of urban history and are non-renewable. Typhoon disasters rank among the most serious and frequent natural threats to China’s coastal regions. Improving the wind resilience of China’s coastal historical districts is of great significance for their protection and inheritance. Accurately analyzing the different characteristics of the influencing factors of wind resilience in China’s coastal historical districts can provide a theoretical basis for alleviating the damage caused by typhoons and formulating disaster prevention measures. This paper accurately identifies the main influencing factors of wind resilience in China’s coastal historical districts and constructs an influencing factor system from four aspects: block level, building level, typhoon characteristics, and emergency management. An IIM model for the systematic analysis of influencing factors of wind resilience in China’s coastal historical districts based on the Improved Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (IDEMATEL), Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM), and Matrices Impacts Croises-Multiplication Appliance Classement (MICMAC) methods is established. This allows us to explore the mechanism of action of internal influencing factors of typhoon disasters and construct an influencing factor system, in order to propose prevention measures from the perspective of typhoon disaster characteristics and the overall perspective of China’s coastal historical districts. The results show that the driving force of a building’s windproof design in China’s coastal historical districts is low, but its dependence is strong; the driving forces of block morphology, typhoon level, and emergency plan are strong, but their dependence is low. A building’s windproof design is a direct influencing factor of the wind resilience of China’s coastal historical districts; block morphology, typhoon level, and emergency plan are the most fundamental and key influencing factors of the wind resilience of China’s coastal historical districts. Achieving high-precision positioning operations in a small space was of great significance in aerospace, biomedical, and other fields. In order to obtain smaller displacements with higher accuracy, this paper focused on the design, optimization, and performance analysis of a two-stage reduction micro-drive mechanism. Using the principle of lever and the principle of balanced additional force, a two-stage reduction micro-motion mechanism without parasitic motion and non-motion directional force was designed, and the structure optimization of the mechanism was completed by employing the particle swarm algorithm. A finite element analysis was conducted to assess the strength, dynamics, and kinematic properties of the mechanism. Experimental methods were also employed to analyze its dynamic and kinematic properties. The analysis results demonstrated that the mechanism met the design requirements in terms of strength and dynamic properties, with a maximum error of 9.02% and a maximum kinematic error of 0.0267 μm. The achieved reduction ratio was 24.73:1. These results indicated that the mechanism possesses excellent strength and dynamic performance, a large reduction ratio, high motion accuracy, and good linearity. This paper contributes significantly to the advancement of research in precision mechanical motion and micro-drive mechanisms. Full article

Lateritic soils in tropical regions feature cohesive textures and high specific resistance, driving up energy demands for tillage and harvesting machinery. However, current equipment designs lack discrete element models that account for soil moisture variations, and the microscopic effects of water content on lateritic soil deformation remain poorly understood. This study aims to calibrate and validate discrete element method (DEM) models of lateritic soil at varying moisture contents of 20.51%, 22.39%, 24.53%, 26.28%, and 28.04% by integrating the Hertz–Mindlin contact mechanics with bonding and JKR cohesion models. Key parameters in the simulations were calibrated through systematic experimentation. Using Plackett–Burman design, critical factors significantly affecting axial compressive force—including surface energy, normal bond stiffness, and tangential bond stiffness—were identified. Subsequently, Box–Behnken response surface methodology was employed to optimize these parameters by minimizing deviations between simulated and experimental maximum axial compressive forces under each moisture condition. The calibrated models demonstrated high fidelity, with average relative errors of 4.53%, 3.36%, 3.05%, 3.32%, and 7.60% for uniaxial compression simulations across the five moisture levels. Stress–strain analysis under axial loading revealed that at a given surface displacement, both fracture dimensions and stress transfer rates decreased progressively with increasing moisture content. These findings elucidate the moisture-dependent micromechanical behavior of lateritic soil and provide critical data support for DEM-based design optimization of soil-engaging agricultural implements in tropical environments. Direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous generators (DD-PMSGs) have been widely adopted in wind power generation systems owing to their distinctive advantages, including direct-drive operation, high power density, and superior energy conversion efficiency. However, the high power density of the generator inevitably leads to heat generation issues, which affect the reliability of the generator. To address the thermal issues in the 4.5 MW direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous generator (DD-PMSG), this paper proposes a novel forced air-cooling ventilation system. Through comprehensive computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and fundamental thermodynamic analysis, the cooling performance is systematically evaluated to determine the optimal width of the stator ventilation ducts. Furthermore, based on the temperature distribution of the stator and rotor, three optimization schemes for non-uniform core segments are proposed. By comparing the ventilation cooling performance under three structural schemes, the optimal structural scheme is provided for the generator. Finally, the feasibility of the heat dissipation scheme and the accuracy of the simulation calculations are verified by fabricating a prototype and setting up an experimental platform. The above conclusions and research results can provide some reference for the design of the core ventilation ducts structure of subsequent wind turbines. Full article
