
Poultry | Interview with One of the Authors—Dr. Lilong Chai
Dr. Lilong Chai is an Associate Professor and Engineering Specialist in the Department of Poultry Science at the University of Georgia (UGA). Dr. Chai’s primary research interests include animal environmental engineering and precision poultry farming. He is also an affiliate faculty member of the UGA Institute for Integrative Precision Agriculture. Dr. Chai’s contributions include 300 scientific publications (i.e., 90 peer-reviewed journal articles, 150 conference papers/abstracts, 50 Extension articles, and two books), PI/Co-PI of 40 grants/contracts (~USD 5.5 million), and 20 professional awards/honors. Dr. Chai is currently serving as the Coordinator of the Georgia Precision Poultry Farming Conference and Georgia Layer Conference, and Chair of the 4th US Precision Livestock Farming Conference.
