Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to contribute to this Special Issue, titled Innovation for Urban Resilience: Bridging Planning, Technology, and Governance. As cities grow and transform, they face urgent challenges in energy transition, resilience, and living conditions. At the same time, technological innovation is emerging as a critical driver shaping sustainable and inclusive urban development.

This Special Issue will explore how urban innovation interacts with planning, governance, and sustainability goals to address the complex dynamics of urbanization. By linking innovation with the urban environment, the economy, and resilience, the collection will align with the journal’s scope and provide interdisciplinary insights for both theory and practice.

In this Special Issue, both original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Urban innovation systems and sustainable transformation;
  • Technological innovations and urban economic transitions;
  • Innovation-driven housing, real estate, and urban regeneration;
  • Urban resilience, climate adaptation, and governance.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Sincerely,

Prof. Dr. Jianping Gu
