Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Assessing progress towards sustainability is absolutely essential to helping us understand if we are moving in the right direction in addressing climatic change, biodiversity loss, or the waste crisis. Sustainability is usually defined in multi-dimensional terms and is represented through different combinations of indicators based on SDGs or similar indicator sets. It is also tremendously important to understand whether new or existing social, economic, or environmental policies are delivering progress towards sustainability or not.

This Special Issue is devoted to an exploration of the methods and tools used to assess progress towards sustainability over time and to establishing whether specific economic, social, or environmental policies are delivering an overall improvement in performance at the macro scale.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome, and research areas may include, but are not limited to, the following topics:

  • Multidimensional assessment of progress;
  • Sustainability assessment of economic policies (e.g., Brexit);
  • Sustainability assessment of environmental policies (e.g., carbon tax);
  • Sustainability assessment of social policies (e.g., universal income);
  • Assessing the impacts of consumption in specific countries with respect to the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of performance in other countries;

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
