Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue aims to attract a wider readership in the field of marine science and sustainable energy power engineering by providing an overview of recent advances in renewable energy and the growing recognition of the importance of marine ecosystems. The interrelated fields of marine science and sustainable energy power engineering address the challenges of harnessing renewable energy from the ocean while maintaining environmental sustainability, analysing the impacts of climate change, pollution and human activities on the marine environment with the aim of conserving and restoring marine ecosystems. In the context of marine science, studies exploring ways to harness the vast energy resources available in the ocean, such as tidal, wave and offshore wind energy, are strongly encouraged in this Special Issue with a view to help reduce dependence on fossil fuels, mitigate climate change and promote a sustainable energy future. In the search for sustainable energy solutions, solutions that contribute to the development and implementation of renewable energy technologies with minimal environmental impact are of particular interest. The fusion of marine science and sustainable energy technology offers a promising path toward a sustainable and clean energy future while preserving fragile marine ecosystems.
Given the increasing global interest in renewable energy and the growing recognition of the importance of marine ecosystems, we believe that a Special Issue dedicated to marine science and sustainable energy power engineering would provide a valuable platform for researchers to share their latest findings, advances and innovative approaches.
This Special Issue encourages submissions that span theoretical, experimental and applied research to provide a comprehensive overview of the following topics:
- Novel technologies for harnessing marine renewable energy (e.g., offshore wind, wave, tidal);
- Environmental impact assessment of marine renewable energy projects;
- Advances in marine biology and ecology related to sustainable energy production;
- Modelling and simulation techniques to optimise the efficiency of marine energy systems;
- Policy and regulatory frameworks to promote sustainable marine energy development;
- Efficient monitoring techniques for sustainable energy solutions and development of effective ecosystem conservation strategies;
- Case studies and field trials of marine energy projects.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
