Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue, entitled ‘Green Management and Governance in the Energy Industry’, in the journal Sustainability (MDPI). This Special Issue aims to address the pressing need for green transformation within the energy sector, driven by the dual challenges of climate change and environmental sustainability. The transition to sustainable energy practices is vital for meeting current needs while ensuring a prosperous future for generations to come.

The goal of this Special Issue is to promote interdisciplinary discussions on green management and governance in the energy industry. We invite original research and high-quality reviews that explore innovative management models, regulatory frameworks, and technological solutions supporting the sustainable transformation of the energy sector. Both theoretical and practical challenges in advancing sustainable development within energy will be considered. Should the number of accepted contributions reach a sufficient threshold, we may consider publishing this Special Issue in book format.

We welcome original research articles and reviews on the following research areas, including, but not limited to:

  1. Green strategies in energy companies: Sustainable practices and green strategies adopted by energy firms to reduce environmental impacts and enhance corporate social responsibility.
  2. Government policies for green transformation: The role of government policies and regulations in promoting and facilitating the green transformation of the energy sector.
  3. ESG integration in energy: The application of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks to drive sustainable performance in energy and related industries.
  4.  Emerging technologies for green energy: The impact of emerging technologies such as blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), and smart grids on enhancing the efficiency, transparency, and sustainability of green energy management.
  5. Carbon trading and environmental compliance: The effectiveness of carbon trading mechanisms, carbon pricing strategies, and regulatory compliance in reducing emissions within the energy related industry.

We look forward to receiving your contributions, which will advance the green transformation of the energy sector and provide valuable insights for both academic research and practical industry applications.
