Advanced Sensor Technologies for AIoT, Healthcare and Environmental Monitoring
This special issue belongs to the section “Intelligent Sensors“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The application diversity of sensors is not only growing rapidly at present, to meet demand, but is also starting to represent an emerging business market in terms of Smart Internet of Things (IoT) and wearable devices. In addition to traditional development avenues, the advance of CMOS/MEMS sensors or microsystems continues to contribute in all aspects of industrial activities and human life around the world, working towards the development of fascinating themes in technological innovation.
The Special Issue aims to invite original and innovative topics describing the latest research in macro-scale or micro-scale sensors and devices. For CMOS/MEMS microsensors, this may include novel methodology or process integration in all technology disciplines for sensing and packaging requirements. These smart sensors with effective designs of transducing circuits play a crucial role in a variety of next-generation applications such as pattern recognition, AI edge computing, big data analysis, etc. Potential topics may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- “From macro to nano” sensors: design, fabrication, packaging and reliability;
- CMOS/MEMS sensors in specific or multi-disciplines;
- Sensor testing, interface, correction and calibration techniques;
- Smart sensors or sensory systems;
- Transducing ICs for sensor data processing;
- Sensors for IoT and AI-embedded systems;
- Big data and AI analysis for automation and healthcare.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
