Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The synthesis of novel nanostructured materials and nanodevices for both sensors and environmental applications is of immense importance. Nanostructured materials provide unique electronic, magnetic, and chemical properties, making them both novel and attractive for the new generation of devices. For example, graphene-based nanocomposites and nano-oxides can be used efficiently for the removal of arsenic ions from contaminated water supplies, which in turn can save lives and lower the capital cost of the purification of water in highly arsenic-contaminated areas. The topics covered in this Special Issue will represent recent innovations in nanostructured materials synthesis and characterization for use in both sensors and environmental applications. The removal of toxic containments from water, the catalytic oxidation of toxic gasses such as carbon monoxide, as well as the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials for biosensing applications are some of the topics that will be covered in this Special Issue. Both review and original research articles are welcomed from a broad spectrum of disciplines—physics, chemistry, engineering, biochemistry, medicine, analytical science, environmental science, materials science, and engineering—to highlight the latest developments and future challenges in the exciting filed of nanostructured materials synthesis and characterization.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
