Dear Colleagues,
The rapid growth of rehabilitation robotics is transforming the delivery of healthcare by enabling more personalized, intensive, and data-driven therapy for individuals with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. At the core of these systems, sensor technologies play a critical role in capturing biomechanical, physiological, and environmental data to support real-time feedback, adaptive control, and objective assessment of patient progress. Advances in wearable sensors, soft and flexible electronics, computer vision, and multimodal sensing have opened new opportunities for enhancing human–robot interaction and improving rehabilitation outcomes.
Despite these advances, significant challenges remain, including sensor accuracy and reliability in real-world settings, integration of heterogeneous data streams, user comfort and usability, and the translation of laboratory innovations into clinical and home environments. With the increasing demand for remote rehabilitation, aging populations, and the integration of artificial intelligence, sensor-driven rehabilitation robotics is a timely and impactful research area with strong implications for both academia and clinical practice.
This Special Issue aims to present and disseminate the most recent advances related to sensor technologies for rehabilitation robotics. We consider contributions addressing novel sensing modalities, system integration, data analytics, and clinical applications that enhance the effectiveness, accessibility, and scalability of robotic rehabilitation systems.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
