Dear Colleagues,
To date, new sensor technologies assisted by advanced and complex algorithms have been proposed for the investigation of human diseases and the planning of recovery and rehabilitation strategies. Think about electroencephalographic (EEG)/magnetoencephalographic (MEG) sensors for altered brain state recognition or epileptic focus localization, electromiographic and inertial sensors for amputated limb pain recovery, wearable devices or radio-frequency identification tags (RFID) for health monitoring and rehabilitation planning etc. Improving both sensing device technology and signal conditioning/processing can allow the achievement of a better discrimination of diseases with respect to healthy states, supporting diagnosis and recovery treatments.
The aim of this Special Issue is to shed light on the most innovative discoveries in the field of sensors and algorithms for the detection of human diseases. All the scientists involved in discovering new sensing technologies for human signal detection, in finding new processing algorithms for boosting the recognition of signal features and in clinical studies devoted to the assessment of such new technologies are kindly invited to submit their papers to this Special Issue, in order to create a pool of articles of interest for the community that could facilitate the sharing of knowledge and interaction between different professionals.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
