Intelligent Wireless Sensor Networks for Internet of Things Applications
This special issue belongs to the section “Internet of Things“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The future Internet of Things (IoT) era will lead to the widespread proliferation of device connectivity; meanwhile, future IoT applications will establish comprehensive support from delay-sensitive and learning-aware services. Serving massive and widely distributed IoT devices and applications involves difficulties related to computing capability and network reliability.
By leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and distributed systems, intelligent wireless sensor networks enhance the efficiency, adaptability, and scalability of wireless sensor networks, enabling advanced capabilities across varied applications. Thus, we must transform IoT applications by enabling smarter, more efficient, and responsive systems across various sectors, driving innovation and enhancing productivity in connected environments.
This Special Issue welcomes all submissions on the latest advances and trends in intelligent wireless sensor networks for IoT applications. We seek high-quality and original research papers offering emerging theories, outlining the architecture and potential applications of intelligent wireless sensor networks that will benefit the IoT applications. Topics of interest for this Special Issue include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Advanced and intelligent wireless sensor networks architecture for future IoT applications;
- Enabling techniques enhancing intelligent wireless sensor networks for future IoT applications;
- Performance analysis of intelligent wireless sensor networks for future IoT applications;
- Resource allocation/management in intelligent wireless sensor networks for future IoT applications;
- Demo, use cases and testbeds of intelligent wireless sensor networks for future IoT applications.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
